When Anne, Gilbert, and I arrived at my house we were instantly hit with my sister. She gave me a big hug and aggressively shook Gilbert and Anne's hand. "Rose this Gilbert," Charlotte explained pointing to Gilbert, "and Anne," She smiled. "It's very nice to meet you both," Rose seemed like a proud older sister. "Okay you guys go have some fun and I'll stop pestering you," Charlotte laughed at her sisters remark. The kids put their stuff on the front porch. Anne decided she wanted to bring them to the most magical place she had seen.
"This is wonderful Anne!" Charlotte yelled as they ran towards the ocean. "I know right!" She yelled back. The two girls immediately took off their tights and ran towards the ocean. Gilbert rolled up his pants and followed them in. "This place is so surreal," Gilbert said. They all stood in the water. They stared out into the ocean. "The water is quite nice," Charlotte noticed. Gilbert nodded. Anne sighed, "I would stay here for days if I could," she said. "I agree," Charlotte responded smiling. They stood in silence for what felt like seconds but that turned into an hour. They decided to walk back to Charlotte's house, to talk and then have supper. As they walked, they shared small talk. Charlotte was glad that Gilbert was there, even though she never meant to invite him. She just felt bad for him. The three talked about school, and shared their dreams amongst each other. "My dream is to travel," Charlotte said looking out into the field. She felt Gilbert's eyes on her. She turned to meet his. "I really love to travel to," he said, "my father absolutely loved traveling," Charlotte smiled and the three continued their conversation.
Once they arrived at Charlotte's house, they went up to Charlotte's room and played a few games. "Okay how about we play truth or dare," Anne said flopping onto Charlotte's bed. Charlotte took a deep breath, after laughing so hard. Charlotte and Gilbert agreed to the idea. "I'll begin," Anne said. "Gilbert truth or dare," he sighed, "dare," Anne smiled with a sinister look. "I dare you to yell out the window that you love mangos," Charlotte giggled at the thought. Gilbert was hesitant, but opened the window and screamed "I LOVE MANGOS!" They burst out laughing as Gilbert closed the window. "Okay Charlotte Truth or Dare," Gilbert said after they finally calmed down. "Truth," Charlotte said smiling. "What is your favorite thing to do?" Charlotte smiled and her eyes twinkled. "Oh how I absolutely love it when it rains," she explained, "my favorite thing to do is run around in the rain," they nodded. "The feeling and your skin and the fun to splash in a puddle is a few reasons of why I love it," Charlotte explained further. They all stared at each other after. They soon burst back into laughter. "Come down Charlotte supper is ready!" Her mother called from downstairs.
At dinner table, Charlotte sat next to Gilbert and her brother Cole. Anne was on the other side of Cole. Charlotte believes that Anne might have a crush on Cole. Charlotte's mother sat at the head of the table. Rose and George sat in front of Charlotte and Cole. "This is very delicious Miss thank you so much," Gilbert politely told Charlotte's mother. "So how was your day?" Rose asked. "It was so fun," the three said in unison. They laughed. "We visited the ocean and ran in the field, we played games and laughed it was amazing," Anne explained quickly. "That seems fun," Rose smiled looking at me and then back to Anne. "I didn't want to ask earlier but Gilbert?" Rose asked. Oh no, thought Charlotte. "Yes," he turned his head to look to her. "Are you Charlotte's boyfriend?" NOOOOO, Charlotte thought. Gilbert just chuckled and shook his head. "No Charlie and I are just friends," He smiled explaining to Rose. Charlotte blushed very hard and shook her head, mentally cursing Rose. Gilbert looked at her and back at Rose. The dinner continued on, even after that awkward question. Charlotte noticed Gilbert staring at her a couple of times. He even called her Charlie.
The dinner soon ended, Gilbert and Anne had to go home because it was getting dark. About five minutes after they left, Rose let out a squel. "Charlotte!" She yelled, "or may I say Charlie," she chuckled. "Gilbert definitely has a crush on you!" I laughed "He only realized I existed a week ago," Rose shook her head, "lies. You should have seen the way he looks at you Charlotte!" She exclaimed. Charlotte laughed yet again. "Maybe because I was blushing so hard," After that Charlotte pushed the idea of Gilbert Blythe liking her out of her head. How could he possibly like her. Charlotte believes that she's the most ugly girl, and we be an awful wife. What reason does Gilbert have to like her?
