Chapter 25: the Other Side

(Sophia’s POV)

 

“WHAT?!!! Are you kidding me?!” napatayo ako ng di-oras sa sinabi ni Xander, I know I’m not in the right position to ask but I’m also wondering how come it is her bestfriend who will be the MC and announced and told that in front of many people “There so many selection who’ll be the MC how come it is her bestfriend? So you mean it is planned?”

“So it was” walang buhay niyang sinabi, halatang wala siyang ganang pag-usapan ito dahil “I’m pathetic Sophia, I’m right in front of him, who planned for this but then I can’t do anything for Phoeliz, I feel sorry for her” kitang-kita sa mga mata ang pagka-dismayado habang sinasabi niya yun.

“It’s not your fault..” Lumapit ako sa kaniya at tumabi para i-comfort siya

Hindi ko pa talaga alam ang nangyari, pero naniniwala ako kay Xander, hindi siya malulungkot ng ganito kundi naman talaga katotohanan ang mga pinagsasasabi niya. Sa onting impormasyong nalaman ko mula kay Xander, bigla na lang nawala yung inis ko sa babaeng yun at napalitan ito ng awa.

So right from the start naka-plano na pala ang lahat, ang pagiging katulong niya up to this point or rather I would say it all started right from the start na mahirapan siya up to this point.

Medyo lumayo sa pagkakayakap ko si Xander and he looked at me in a trouble face “And you know what’s humiliating part of her faith?” I give a silent answer which proving that I don’t know and tell me “My manager, the company’s CEO, who took me back here in the Philippines to use me as his card to Phoeliz, is no other than Neil Moirae, the richest in the Southeast Asia and the father of Phoeliz. Is the one who planned for this” that’s give me a break

After a few minutes, the words have been digested. Mag-sasalita na sana ako ng mag-salita siya ulit

Habang iniintay ko yung susunod na sasabihin niya, tumingin muna siya sa akin ng may pagtataka “Maybe it’s not too late?” hindi ko alam ang ibig niyang sabihin pero napatulala ako sa mga mata niya, hinawakan niya yung kamay ko at tumayo siya akala ko nga yayayain na niya akong umalis sa lugar na yun pero nagkamali ako.

Lumuhod siya sa harapan ko, ngayon magka-level lang ang height namin, biglang bumilis yung tibok ng puso ko ng kunin niya sa pagkakalapag yung kamay ko at he filled the spaces between my fingers while doing it we look at our hands seriously, like it was our first time to hold hands.
