Chapter 14

Once home I turned off my engine and took my keys, slamming the door closed behind me as I started walking up the steps to my front door, opened it and went inside. Where I saw Boris sitting in one of the chairs and smoking a cigarette, as soon as he spotted me he quickly stood up from his chair and waited on me to give him an order. While he waited I walked over to where Hailey was sitting at and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

As I placed the box of saltine crackers in her lap, I watched as she turned her attention from the show that she was busy watching and looked right at me with a smile on her face and then said. "Hey, Draco. You're home a bit early." She said as she looked at the clock that was hanging on the living room wall.

"I know. Some things came up at the office and I had to come and discuss them with Boris." I replied.

She removed the box of crackers from her lap and then placed them onto the coffee table, stood from the black plush couch and asked. "Does this have something to do the whole Jimmy incident?"

"Yes. Unfortunately, it does, why?" I asked wondering what she wanted to say.

I watched as she grabbed her iPhone from the coffee table and then turned the screen on and scrolled through a couple of things, then pulled up something from her messenger and then said. "Because I received this strange message this morning after you left." She said as she handed me her phone so that I could see the message.

Taking the phone from her, I looked at the screen and silently read off the message to myself. 'If you want to make sure that your baby stays safe then meet me at 777 Reds Avenue at midnight. And don't tell anyone.'

Once I read this I instantly felt enraged. I looked at Hailey and said. "What the hell is this? Why didn't you tell me about this when I called a while ago?"

"Because it came from a number that I didn't recognize, and I didn't want to worry you." She replied nervously.

"You didn't want to worry me?! Sweetheart. You are my life if anything happens to you even something minor, I worry about you and I always will. That I can promise you." I huffed.

The room went deadly silent as soon as I said that and then the next thing that I knew Hailey quickly walked over to me and gave me a tight hug and then said. "Thank you, Draco. And I'm sorry, I should have told you about the message when you called a while ago."

I patted her on her back and then said. "It's fine. Don't worry about it. I'll find some way to fix this mess. In the meantime, I want you to sit back down on the couch and relax, and watch tv. I have some things that I need to discuss with Boris, I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything."

I watched as she rubbed her arms and then replied. "Alright." And then sat back down on the couch with phone in hand.

As soon as she sat down on the couch I grabbed a small light blue quilt that was folded over the back of the couch and unfolded it and placed over the top of Hailey's body, and then kissed the top of her head and turned and left with Boris and went into the kitchen to discuss some plans that I had for Vincenzo.

Once inside the kitchen I grabbed a couple of beers from the fridge and placed one down in front of Boris, and then sat down across from him with mine. Cracking the tab on mine I took a huge gulp of it and cringed at the taste of it. I always hated American beer every time I drank this shit it always reminded me of horse piss. Normally, I never bought this shit but, considering that Boris loved the stuff I always kept a ration of it in the fridge, just in case he came by the house.

We sat there in silence for several minutes until I heard the sound of Boris grunt and then heard the crack of his beer when he opened it and then took a drink of his and then asked. "So, what's the plan, boss?"

"Well, for starters, I am informing all members of my group. That if you see a Marino member in sight, then kill him and make sure that you get the job done too." I replied and took another drink from my can. And then shook my head at the taste and got up and poured it out in the sink and stood there in front of it and pulled a cigar out of my jacket pocket and lit it.

Boris picked up his can from the kitchen island and turned and looked at me and asked. "Is that all, boss?"

I crossed my arm against my chest and looked at him and said. "No, Boris. That's not all. There is something that I need your help with, something that only you can do. You explosive loving bastard."

I watched as an evil smirk stretched across Boris' lips and watched as he rubbed his hands together and then laughed a bit, and then asked. "Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?"

I snorted a bit and then replied. "Of course, I am. What kind of man would I be if I didn't let my third in command have fun with his favorite hobby of blowing people up." I smirked.

"Sounds fun. So, who is it that you want me to blow up?" He in wonderment.

I moved and turned my back from him as I went to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. Closed it, and then turned back to him and said. "I want you to blow up the entire main compound that he has on the north side of town. I'd say that if we get rid of the majority of the group then there won't be that many that we have to deal with later."

Boris took his beer and finished it off, and then crushed the can in his hand and then asked. "But, what Vincenzo? What are we going to do about him?"

I opened my bottle and drank some and then replied. "I'm going to personally make sure that the man rots in hell."

Boris nodded his head and then got off his seat and then walked over to the trash can and threw the crushed beer can away and then turned to me and said. "So, when do you want this bomb ready?"

"I'll call you when it's time. In the meantime, just go ahead and build it. That way that we won't have worry about it later." I replied, and then screwed the lid of my water bottle on.

Boris nodded at me in understanding and then turned and left the house. Once he was gone I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and joined Hailey on the couch for a relaxing night.
