Life has never been easy, you have your up and downs. Lately, it seems as if the 'downs' have taken over your life. Everything seemed to be going wrong. When you least expect it, it will happen. You tried your best to stay positive, to look on the bright side but that didn't seem to even work in your favor. Work was crazy, drama erupted with most of your coworkers, you failed one class which now you had to retake. Which meant more money for college, your friend haven't spoken to you. You just needed a break from work, from school and from life in general.
Pulling the hoodie over your head, you tucked your hair into the hoodie more. Slipping your hands into your hoodie pocket you continued to make your way down the sidewalk. Humming quietly to yourself, you looked down at your worn out converse as you made your way home. Pushing the door open you slipped your now wet converse off and dropped them on the floor by the door. Locking the door behind you, you made your way to your bedroom to change into something more comfortable.
Walking into your little back porch you dropped your book and blanket on the swing before walking back and grabbing your coffee cup. Setting it gently on the little table you curled up on your swing and pulled the blanket slightly over your legs. Hearing the rain relaxed you as you flipped through the pages of your book. Looking down at your wrist you noticed the slight red band that was wrapped around it. Tracing your finger slightly over it, you bit down on your lip as you continued to look at it. It seemed to be getting brighter by the minute.
Laying on the blanket you stared up at the stars. They seemed so bright tonight, extending your arm out you stared at the red band. Tracing your finger slightly around it, you bit down on your lip. Sighing you closed your eyes before you rolled over on the blanket. Looking over at the fence, you noticed a small light coming from inside the house.
Someone had just moved in. Groaning as you head the drums start up again. Every night at exactly 10 they would start. Sighing you sat up and grabbed your blanket, stomping your way inside. They just had to ruin your quiet night by starting to play those damn drums. Your roommate had gone over to talk to the guy and he promised he would keep it down but of course at 10 when most people are asleep it will be loud.
"I'll talk to him tomorrow," she said as she tilted her back and looked up at you from the couch. You shrugged and dropped the blanket on the basket before walking around and sitting down on the couch "When did this happen" she asked as she sat up and took your arm. She examined the red mark around your wrist. "When did you meet him?" she looked over at you excitedly.
"I haven't met anyone." you muttered looking over at your arm, "It appeared like 2 weeks ago." you shrugged. "It's not a big deal." You added looking over at her. Slowly removing your arm from her grip she frowned.
"I know its hard to imagine that he might be near," she said, "Especially after everything that you have been through but, hey he might be something good for you." she added as she looked over at you. Shrugging you leaned back into the couch and put your feet up on the little coffee table.
"I'm not really worried about finding my soulmate." you muttered looking down at the red band around your wrist.
"It's not something that I worry about. I just want to get my life together." you added. She nodded her head and turned back to the TV.
3 Months Later
You slipped your shoes on and slipped out the door. Shivering at the cool morning breeze, you frowned and fixed the red beanie on your head. Sliding your hands into your pockets you stared down at your shoes as you made your way down the sidewalk.
"Watch out!" you heard someone shout, you felt as balloon hit your shoulder, water splattering slightly towards your cheeks. Looking over at the red haired boy who stood in his driveway, he had two blue balloons in one hand.
"I'm so sorry," he said as he dropped the balloons and made his way over. A balloon flying across the lawn, it hit the side of his head. "Tyler!" he yelled before a smile formed on his lips. He shook his head as he continued to walk over. "I'm really sorry," he said as he wiped your jacket slightly, looking down at the wet streaks before looking up into his eyes.
"I..I..its... okay" you stuttered before looking down at your shoes. You shook your head before you continued making your way down the sidewalk. Reaching up you placed your hand slightly over the placed the water balloon hit you.
"Y/N you have table 4." you heard Kate yell, nodding you grabbed your little pad and made your way towards the table.
"Good morning my name is Y/N and I'll be your waitress can I start you with something to drink," you said looking over at the two boys in front of you. You recognize the one on the left, he was the one who threw the balloon at you.
"Coffee please." he muttered as he continued to look at the menu in front of him
"Coffee as well." you heard the other boy say, nodding you made your way behind the counter and started pouring coffee into the cups. Grabbing the white mugs you made your way over to the table. Placing the cup in front of one of them, you reached across and placed it in front of the other boy. His eyes focused on the red band that wrapped around your wrist. Looking over at your hand you noticed a small 'J' hard formed in the middle of the red band. Moving your arm back, you watched as his eyes focused on you. "Are you guys ready or do you need a minute?" you asked.

Groaning you stood up from the swing on the porch and made your way down the steps. Walking across the backyard you got on your tippy toes and peeked over. Spotting the boy with red hair, he sat on his little black stool and continued drumming. He bit down on his lips as he moved his drumsticks perfectly across.
"Keep it down!" you yelled, he froze in his spot before he looked around. He stepped out of his house and closed the sliding door and made his way towards the fence "Can you please keep it down a bit." you asked nervously "I'm trying to read." you mumbled a bit. You felt your cheeks turning red as he stared at you.
"Yeah sorry I didn't mean to bother you," he said rubbing the back of his head.
"No it's fine, it's kind of late so it really echoes other than that I don't mind it," you said.
"I'm Josh," he said as he held his hand out to you. Your eyes focused on the Y/H/C band that wrapped around his wrist. The letter Y/FN/L imprinted in the middle of the band.
"Y/N," you said quietly as you reached up and wrapped your hand around his. He stared down at you, his lips slightly parted as he held your hand. You could feel the electricity running down your arm. Your heart started racing as you stared up into his brown eyes. "Nice to meet you," you said quickly before removing your hand from his.
"Josh!" you heard someone say, you both looked back at his house. A red haired girl stood in the doorway. She ran her fingers lightly through her hair.
"Come on baby it's cold." she added as she motioned for him to go back inside. He turned back to you and smiled slightly.
"It's nice to meet you as well," he said as he walked back towards his house.
