The portal brought me to a cruise. There were men in uniforms walking around and talking to one another. Hey! It was a good view. I overheard one of the navy men said that this Carribean is very good. A good place to visit. Pleasing to the eyes. A really good work of God. I swing my head both sides, finding someone. I knew dad was in here. I saw in the painting that he wore this kind of uniform.

I patrolled the cruise, expecting to see some sort of a Titanic imagery. Where can the swimming pool be? Or the loveliest cabin? Or the lounge where I can meet with friends? I do not see any of those here. As I observed my surroundings some more, I saw some weapons on a table, first aid kits, and big anchors. No other peson or I should call a civilian. Am I in a warship?

I was looking for all the details on where could I be and I found out that I am in a frigate naval vessel. A man walked in front of me, grabbed a rifle, pointed it to somewhere far, looked closely at the target, and - -

OMG! I closed my eyes in fear.

A phone rang. It looks like coming from somewhere near me. Ohh! It was the man's. His phone rang.

"Hello." He answered, still holding the rifle on his left hand.

"Really? When?" His eyes lit up.

"I would be there but of course, I'll have to take care of business first. You know, to my superior." He puts back the rifle and walked away.

"Alright, bye." He ended the call and turned around.

In my surprise, he looks like dad. Oh my gosh! Is he my dad? Is this is job before he met mom? Thoughts are bothering me again and when they do, all I need is to find an answer. I followed to where he was heading. He sat in his room and looked at the window. I do not know what he was thinking. It was deep. All I observed was his facial features were like dad's. After a few minutes, he stood up and pulled the drawer beside me. He brought out a family picture.

I stared closely and to my surprise again, that was the same family picture I saw in my daddy's wallet. My jaws dropped in surprise as I look at the picture and look at the man holding it. I cannot believe that he could be dad.

Still digesting what happened, a man in the uniform as well knocked on the door. Dad, or the man beside me, oh gosh, sorry. It is weird to call him dad. Dad turned his attention to the door and the man stood to salute. Dad put the picture back but forgot to push the drawer.

"Captain Melbourne," the man exclaimed. Okay. He is a Melbourne same like my dad. Is he really my dad? "the Commander wants to see you." The man added. Uhm, dad, Captain rather, went to follow. I wanted to follow as well but because of my surprised feeling right now, maybe it is better to stay first in the cabin. I do not want to hear anymore revelations. I guess I'm a weakling.

Tears wants to fall already but I tried to hold them back. My eyes directed to the picture in the drawer. I see my dad, wearing a navy uniform, with a woman beside her who was carrying a child. I gazed closely. The child does not look like me. He is a boy. It is not me.

Question enter my mind again. Does dad have another family? I scratched my head in confusion. Why am I all thinking about this? I am a spirit now.

Dad came back, picked up his phone and dialed a number.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Glenda."

Glenda!! No way! Glenda is my grandmother! Is he calling grandma, his mom, her first name?

"Glenda! Tell Joseph I'm sorry. I had to leave again for a week for some business. I need to do this for our country."

OMG! No way!

"Hello? Joseph? I'm so sorry, kid. Papa needs to do his job first. I cannot go to your party. Maybe next time."

He is not dad. He is my granddad. My grandpa.

"Oh gosh! Grandpa! My tears I held back earlier can't stop falling. Grandpa! I can see you now! Oh my! If only I could speak and tell you how grandma and dad misses you! I think I can. I am dead now like you. So I think you could hear me?" I spoke.

But he did not hear me. He continued what he was doing. I tried to shout but he is not looking at me. I cried and tried to grab his arm. But my hand just pass by him.

I sat in defeat and he looked at my direction. Oh my gosh, grandpa! Did you hear me? He picked up something that I sat upon. Oops! Sorry! I stood up.

It was the painting...

The painting of a man in a navy uniform..

The painting which dad threw away..

Grandpa looked at it and breathe deeply. "I wish I was better, Joseph."

I stared at him, knowing everything I could say, that my dad misses him so much, my grandma remembers him up to now, that I only see him in my imagination but now I can clearly see him.

As much as I wanted to, I can't.

My lips are open but my voice is hushed.
