I felt a touch in my shoulders and I woke up only to realize I am in the hospital where Uncle Tommy was in bed. I raised my alertness knowing that Uncle Tommy almost squeezed my arm off my body. I looked weird in a fighting stance like a martial artist with my hands up at around cheek level. Will he get up there and hurt me again?
Suddenly, someone opened the door and it was Aunt Helen and Riley. Their eyes were puffy due to crying. I can see their tears roll down their cheeks. I relaxed and stood there watching them.
Uncle Tommy was keeping his eyes open as he wanted to see his family one last time. "Tell Tim.. I love him.." His voice is broken. "I love.. you... Riley.."
"Dad, please. Don't. I know it's getting hard." Riley wiping her tears with his dad's hand.
"Helen..." Uncle Tommy looked at Aunt Helen and tried to hold her hands. Aunt Helen knew he was weak, so she held his hands tightly.
"Tommy..." Aunt Helen listening.
"I will get there... before you... but.. please.. don't hurry to... meet me... there..." He smiled as his last tear dropped. They heard the noise. I saw the flat line. It was over.
Uncle Tommy passed away peacefully. "It was over." I whispered.
"It was not over." I heard a voice behind me.
It was Uncle Tommy!!!
Okay, I'm a bit scared. I raised my fists as he moved closer and pushed it down.
"Riley was young when I left her. She could have been guided by me until now. I always loved her strong personality. She was dear to me." He said as he stared at Riley.
"Helen was a good wife and a good mother. I cannot say anything bad about her. I admire her willingness and love for our family. I love her dearest." He said as he turned her gaze to aunt.
He moved closer to them and now looking at his self on the death bed. "I thought it was over. But it was not."
Then, he looked at me. "It was just starting."
His stare didn't scare me at all. I felt inspired. But starting? Why? Who? When?
Those questions started popping in my head until he walked to the window.
"The future is bright, Janice." He smiled, looking at the white light shining from the window.
There was no environment or anything. It was just white light coming in the room.
"What's the future?" I asked.
He smiled. "God's plan." He looked back at me. "Life with Him."
I suddenly remembered the sermons our pastors in church talk about. Oh! God's plan to save us and have eternity with us? That is the future?
"I started to question God after I died." He told me. "But it was for a reason. His thoughts are higher. I knew at that moment, it was for a purpose."
I am now starting to question him. Can it be more specific? Before I open my mouth to ask, he asked if I could walk with him to the door.
"Janice, I know what you think of me."
"Oh no! Is this another trick?" I thought.
"You may think that I am not a good father to them for leaving them at a young age."
I admit I thought of that before.
"No parent ever wants to leave their children." He told me while we walk. "We always want what is best for our children."
I started to remember dad. Did he leave me because of a good reason?
"Questions you are looking for are unanswered but in the right time, you will the answers you are looking for." He smiled. "Go now."
He turned the doorknob and the door opened.
Where will this lead? Where will I go?
I looked at him and he nodded. I felt the force of a vacuum.
"My piece is complete." He said as I see him and the door getting smaller.
To my surprise, I heard that sentence again. Is it something I should take note of? What am I here for?
The vacuum continued to transport me to a place I don't know. Wind was beside me and I am used to my transporter. Just then, I had an idea. Can it speak to me?
"Transporter, do you hear me?" I asked.
I expected for an answer but there was none.
"Transporter, who are you?" I asked again. This time, I asked a silly question.
"I am Michael." It answered.
What?? What??
"Michael?" I asked. "So, your name is Michael?"
"Yes." He answered.
Is it just a coincidence that Michael is my transporter's name and Michael is an archangel? "Hmm. I know another Michael." I tried to be skeptical. "Are you the Michael I know you are?"
He didn't give me an answer. Only to realize, a shadow appeared behind us. It was trying to get near us. But transporter glided quickly.
Amazing! How cool is that!
The shadow increased in size as Michael tries to glide through the wind.
Oh no! It's getting nearer!
The shadow continues to catch up and I was terrified. I prayed to God and asked for help to bring us out of this dark shadow. The shadow grew stronger and thicker and I can't help myself to close my eyes and cry out to God.
I felt wings covered my whole body and I felt a quick wave of highly compressed air spreading outward like fireworks. It was like the speed of light.
I crashed into the ground and I slowly opened my eyes.
Wow! It was a beautiful sight to see!
Look at God's work of art!
