I was walking down the streets when I saw Janice sitting near a store. This was the time I was lost. I went away in the hopes of finding my dad but it turned me to an unknown place. At this time, I was uncertain of ever being with my family again. I remember I was asked once by a teenager to come with him.

Speaking of, that happened again.

I watch my past self as she begged for alms and after a few seconds, the guy I was just referring to came to her.

"Hey, kid. I think your papa has left you like me." The teenage guy wearing a red jacket and started to shake my pockets.

"What?" I exclaimed, irritably.

"Nothing. I just thought you have some money for us." He said. He grabbed something in his pocket. It looks like powder.

"What is that?" I asked curiously.

"This is the answer to us who are lost." He replied.

I was getting scared of how my past self responded to this. I really can't remember what I did.

Suddenly, a group of ugly creatures began to circle around us while I try to hold the small plastic of drugs.

"Did this really happen?" I thought. Why am I not doing anything?

I stepped forward to slash one of the creatures and surprisingly it looked at me. It's eyes looked almost bulged out and I cannot anymore see it's face. It looked hideous.

"I'm sorry. I have to go away." My past self told him and stepped back. Angels were circling around me and they escorted me to the church.

The teenager tried to convince me again but I didn't listen. I remember my parents teaching me to always stay away from suspicious things. My guts at that time know that he wasn't a good guy.

I prayed to God beside the church. I was begging for dad to surprisingly come after I pray. After I pray, dad didn't come but I noticed the teenage guy still looking at me. I approached him and he asked me what did I just do?

"I prayed." I said.

He looked at me and asked, "Do you still believe?"

"Yes, why?"

"Prayer didn't work for me."

I remember my heart broke that time and I still felt the same. I was shocked and I wasn't able to open my mouth for an answer.

"Look at him. He lost everything he had." It was a voice. I looked in front, beside, behind, but I saw no one. "Don't look for me. You won't see me." He teased. "Who are you?" I asked. "Why did you ask me? Ask yourself!" I looked at my past self and she looked shocked. "His prayer for his dad to come back didn't work. So, what more you?!"

A sudden surge inside me lifted up! I remembered something from my past self!

Wait!

I know you!

You are the voice in my head!

He laughed. He laughed more.

"You were the one who lies in my head! And now?! You were lying to this poor guy?!"

I lifted my sword and swayed it.

"You won't sway me." He laughed. "You can try, but you can't."

"How dare you poison our minds!!" I cried with all my might and started swaying my sword around me.

"Swaying your sword won't hurt me, can't you see? Like you said, I am the voice in your head and I control you." He laughs again.

"Control? What do you know about control?" The fire in my sword is slowly deteriorating.

"See, look who controls you? You are scared of my presence."

"Why will I be scared?" I closed my eyes and inhaled.

There was silence. Then, he started to talk. "Admit it! You are scared of me!" He shouted.

I opened my eyes widely as I can and I declared the Word of God boldly in my mouth,

"I will not be scared of you because greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world." - 1 John 4:4

I felt a sudden bolt of lightning where I stood and there was silence.

The voice has left me.
