Back in the Cortex, we watched the security footage from the bank.
"That's the least secure security footage I've ever seen." Cisco noted as we looked through the violently shaking camera that the camera repair man had been hanging from.
"And that's not even the weirdest thing she made happen, I mean, I slipped on a barrel of marbles, and then knocked over a telephone pole which took out Laura." He gestured to me as I sat on the desk with an ice pack held to my bruised ribs.
"That's some seriously bad luck." Caitlin pointed out.
"Yeah, there' s no such thing as luck." Harrison replied.
"Yeah? Tell that to my cousin Hector. He got jinxed by an ex, hasn't been able to find a Mall parking spot for three years." I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Hey," Iris said, coming into the Cortex with Joe by her side, "So we ran those sketches you made us through the CCP database, and..." She pulled up the information.
"Her name's Becky Sharpe. She's twenty-four years old, no priors." Joe told us.
"Why is she in the database if she has no priors?" I questioned.
"Because in the last three years she's lived in Central City, she's been rear-ended four times, her identity stolen twice..."
"A cat burglar literally burgled her cat." Iris pointed out. I cringed.
"Ok, you see, Harry? That is bad Juju."
"Ok, Ramon, what you call Juju, I call quantum entanglement. Discrete quantum particles are connected, and when triggered they simulate a synchronicity to the untrained eye-to the common eye, could seem like luck."
"So, if Becky can affect the particles around her in a positive way then their connected particles start spinning negatively." Barry concluded.
"So, when good things happen to her, bad things happen all around her."
"Great, she's got a good luck field." Cisco said dryly. I nodded.
"That is a new one." I added.
"She's a meta."
"Well, except she can't be. I mean, she's only been in Central City for three years."
"Yeah, but remember what Deacon said? He said he wasn't the only one that didn't get their powers from the Particle Accelerator explosion."
"Not to sound like a broken record, but where the heck are all these new Metas coming from?" Joe asked.
"You know what, maybe the scanners in the suit picked something up." Cisco theorized, going to the computer.
"You said you took all the tech out!" Barry stated.
"Ok, well, I left something in. Ok? Sue me."
"Wow."
"Cecile needs me at the house. You guys let me know what you find out, alright?"
"There." Harrison said, pointing to the screen.
"Yeah, I-I see it, ok? Yeah, the suit definitely measured trace amounts of dark matter on Becky."
"So, if there was another dark matter incident-" Caitlin started.
"We have to figure out how and where it happened as quickly as possible." I finished.
"I'll calibrate your satellite to scan for the same dark matter found in the suit."
"Uh, no you won't." Cisco told him.
"Yeah, I will."
"Don't touch the sat-Don't touch the satellite!"
