Chapter Thirty-Five: I'm Not Kissing Him

Cisco went over to check the Satellite only to have sparks shoot towards him.

"Oh! Sark me!"

"What happened?" Iris asked. Joe and Harry had gone over to De Voe's place to look for Barry, and I had stayed here with Cisco, Iris, and Ralph. DeVoe doens't have much experience with me, and I would like to use that to my advantage. I had also changed into my Skyrocket clothes.

"Well, the satellite's trying to search for Barry's Speed Force energy and Caitlin's cryokinetic signature, so the bandwidth limiters are overheating."

"Well, that's what you get when you rely on machines rather than a master private eye. I've had a ton of missing person cases. There was this wife once. Turns out she faked her own death, she was just living in Arizona."

"Are you saying Barry faked is own death and moved to Arizona?"

"Well...no."

"Well then, shut up."

"Cisco, come on. He is just saying that he has some experience with missing people. He is trying to help." I defended him. Cisco just looked back at the computer without another word. At that, Harry came in. 

"Tell me you got something." Iris begged.

"We got nothing. Searched the DeVoe house thuroughly, it's clean. Your father's gone to check the scene from where Barry was taken."

"You know, there was this other case once. Woman couldn't find her husband. Turns out she just had amnesia. He was home, she just didn't recognize him. And I still got paid, Twice."

"Ralph. Please. Shut. Up."

"You got something you wanna say to me, Ramon?"

"Yeah, I got somethin' to say to you Ralphie boy. Caitlin's been kidnapped. Of course, she wouldn't have been at Jitters in the first place if you hadn't acted like such an idiot today, but of course, in true Ralph Dibny fashion, you drove her away with your FAT MOUTH!"

"Maybe I should turn my hand into a fat fist." Ralph's hand grew a few sizes and I stepped between them.

"Both of you, freaking cool it, now. Our friends are in trouble and you two can't keep it together for five seconds?" I asked. 

"Whatever. I'll be in my lab."

"And I will be in whatever room is farthest from that."

"Speed lab." Harry told him. I sighed.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome." I ran a han dthough my hair.

"What is wrong with those two?" Iris asked.

"You." Harry told her.

"Excuse me?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"You know what's wrong. You're the team leader. Team leader's supposed to make the tough call."

"I made a call. I said we would look for both of them."

"No, looking for both of them is not a choice." He replied.

"We're overtaxing our resources," I added, 

"And our people because you won't face the hard truth. And the hard truth is, we can't look for both. We can only look for one." She sighed.

"Guys, I just made a vow to love and protect Barry. To stand by him through thick and thin and now you're asking me to choose between my husband's life and my friend's? I can't, I can't do that."

"You have to, or we take the risk of not saving either one of them." I told her. "As the leader, you can't look at it personally. Look at the facts, look at the situation, determine which situation needs our help the most. Then make your decision."
