*Chapter Six*

Nick had been driving around for nearly an hour. He was so irritated; he couldn't get over how AJ acted. He thought they were friends, but he now realized that was only if there was a bar or girls around. He sighed loudly. AJ was just like everyone else. He had no real friends. He could feel himself grow angrier as he thought about it and clenched the steering wheel tightly in his grasp as he drove down the road. It wasn't just AJ that was getting on his case; although the only reason he was pissed was because he bailed on him and didn't go to the club. Kevin was getting on his last nerve and then there was Brian. How could he backstab him like that?! He just threw him out to the wolves; they always used to be so close...now it was like they were two different people. Marriage changed him. It was like Frick and Frack who? The group was really falling apart; he didn't even know what was keeping him in it anymore. The music? Was that even enough?

He pulled over into the breakdown lane and rested his forehead against the wheel. He knew he probably should just turn around and suck it up and do the damn photo shoot. They have been working hard and finally they were getting noticed again. For a while it seemed a lot of people had forgotten who the Backstreet Boys were. Their most recent album was a big hit and even radio stations were playing their songs again. He loudly groaned and sat up straight, he definitely was not looking forward to seeing his band mates after that fight. It was probably one of their worsts in a while. Except for that incident when he threw a chair and broke it through a glass table last week. They actually got kicked out. But other than that, he was doing pretty good with controlling his temper; it was the first time in a while since he actually physically attacked one of them. But AJ just got him so fucking angry! He didn't know what it was, but he really liked Kimberly and when he started saying all those things about her, it just hit a nerve. He hasn't felt protective over someone in a long time; hell he hasn't even really liked just one girl in a long time.

Nick glanced up and noticed the street sign a few feet in front of him.

Pave Road.

Was this fate? Was it a sign? He then decided it.

"Fuck the photo shoot," he muttered.

He knew it was probably a bad choice and he was going to get hell for it later, but he also knew if he saw the guys and he was still livid, they'd cause a scene. They'd get another chance to do a photo shoot; who cares if it wasn't in the Rolling Stones, he surely didn't. He pulled back onto the street and went in the direction of the sign. As he drove down the road, he could already feel himself become less irritated. Soon he would see her face again and like last night, she would make all his stress go away...for the time being anyway.

As Kimberly allowed the water to beat down on her skin, she couldn't help but think about Nick. She still could not seem to comprehend that he was actually here last night. She couldn't grasp he thought that she was beautiful. It was just so surreal. As she began to caress her body with the bar of soap, a smile formed around her lips as she thought about what he had told her. How he truly thought about Vicky. She always felt like she was a disgrace when she was around her, but now...now she didn't need to feel like that any longer. She knew she was worth more than what she gave herself credit for...it only took a Backstreet Boy to make her see it.

After she felt her body was cleansed, she shut off the shower and opened the cabinet underneath the sink to pull out a towel, only to see her options were quite limited since there were only two left. She let out a loud groan; Vicky was supposed to do the laundry since she did it last week.

What the hell she growled to herself. She does nothing around here

She was forced to deal with what she had and she grabbed the purple one. She wrapped it around herself; it barely even covered her! Her breasts caused it to be difficult for it to wrap fully around her body. She had to grip the side, allowing some skin on her hip to be shown. She couldn't even hide her breasts. They were popping out of the cloth; it only covered a few inches above her nipple, and it was a few inches below her thighs. She was so grateful Vicky was not there to see her; she would never hear the end of it...especially from Kenzie. She could see it now...all the fat comments.
