*Chapter Ten*
Angel's lips wrapped around the thin clear straw of her second alcoholic fruity beverage. Her chocolate eyes kept on darting towards the entrance of the restaurant as she impatiently waited for her brother.
Where the hell is he?
She's been waiting at Fridays for over forty minutes. She was getting tired of waiting for him to text her to give her directions where he wanted to meet. So she picked an easy restaurant. She was surprised when he asked her where to meet so she was grateful she decided not to wait around for him. She glanced to her phone and saw that it was already almost five-thirty. She rolled her eyes in annoyance. He promised he wouldn't ditch her, but she couldn't ignore the cold stab in the pit of her stomach. She loved Nick, but she sometimes even wondered if he knew what the definition of family meant. Their parents surely didn't. She hated how he would put these skanks before her. She lost count how many times he's ditched her while he was dating Cindy...thankfully that relationship didn't last long, but now he was with yet another groupie!
She had a bad taste in her mouth as she thought about this new girl. Was she going to be like Cindy? Of course she was! She was a fucking fan! She hasn't even met her yet and she already hated her. She didn't need to meet her in order to make her judgment. Didn't he learn from the first one? This girl probably thought he was the greatest man on the planet...just what he needed. Something else to feed his ego. She would probably do anything for him and because of that, he was going to abandon her. He could get laid anytime he wanted. She barely ever got to see him anymore. She could feel her eyes sting from the thought. She felt she was slowly losing her brother...didn't he want to have at least someone in his family that he still spoke to?
She felt a warm hand cup the top of hers. She turned and saw her boyfriend staring at her with caring blue eyes, "Relax," he murmured. His lips pressed against her soft cheek, "He's not going to cancel on you."
It was as if he could read her mind...or maybe it was the way she kept on eying the entrance like some hawk. She looked to the empty seat across from her where Nick and his new girlfriend should have been sitting. She was making him change his mind, wasn't she? This girl wanted him all to herself. She took a long sip of her beverage; the alcohol was barely even touching her. Maybe that was a good thing. When she drank; it was the liquor that usually did all the talking. She knew if that happened and she told this girl how she really felt, Nick would be furious. She wanted to lash out at her, she wanted to scream at her and tell her to hit the highway. She was no good for him. How could she be? Maybe she was even easier than Cindy...was that even possible? Was this girl going to be the reason why her brother was going to cancel last minute? It wouldn't be the first time.
"Yes, he is," she finally choked out before latching her lips back on the straw, praying the alcohol would take some effect. Still nothing. Did they dilute the vodka or something?
Her head then shot up as she heard a familiar laugh. She saw her brother step in the restaurant, holding the door open and Angel watched as a girl walked in. Her chocolate eyes grew wide from her sight. She was nothing what she pictured. The girl glanced up at Nick and smiled affectionately before he took her hand in his and waltzed down the corridor. She has never seen her brother look this happy with anyone.
Angel stared at the girl intently, completely stunned by her appearance. She wasn't at all ugly, but she wasn't someone she could see him with. She had some meat to her...not in a bad way. She wasn't heavy, but she sure had curves. She watched as her blue sundress flowed with her hips. It was a cute dress, it complimented her body well, especially her breasts. Maybe that was why she wore it? From past experiences with shopping with Leslie...she felt herself cringe as she thought about her late sister. She missed her dearly. She remembered when they would go shopping, and Leslie would wear loose fitting clothes, but they would show off her womanly assets impeccably. She never thought Leslie looked bad in anything she wore...she was beautiful. Sadly she couldn't see it herself. She blamed her mother for that.
