*Chapter Fifteen*

Vicky stumbled into the apartment around four in the morning. Her hair was snarled and her makeup was smudged from her night of passion. She pushed the door closed with her body, causing her to fall backwards. She leaned against it and let out a loud giggled. She could feel the alcohol still soaring through her bloodstream. She smirked as she recapped her night. Ian was a magnificent lover, one of the best she's had in awhile. However he was falling for her and fast. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. He would do anything she requested...he was like a loyal dog. That of course was a good thing...she was just terrified he was going to say that dreadful L word. She knew if that happened she would have to end it. She really didn't want to have to do that...she was having too much fun with him.

After her father left her mother, she promised herself to keep those types of feelings locked away. She watched as her mother fell apart from the divorce and soon alcohol became the only companion she needed. She didn't want to end up like her; lost and alone. Love was a killer. It was a death sentence. She learned that after her mother died of acute alcohol poisoning.

Tears threatened her eyes and she knew she had to stop thinking about her. She quickly racked her mind for something else to think about. She soon felt annoyance wash over her when she thought about her so-call best friend. She couldn't ignore the way Kenzie was glaring at her. Yeah so what...it was her brother...no, her step brother. Kenzie pulled her aside and gave her a small pep talk. She could feel irritation boil within her as she recalled the memory. She told her to stop toying with Ian...that he was really into her and it wasn't fair to him. Who the hell was she to say? First off, she did like Ian...she really did. He was nice to her and he treated her like she was some sort of Queen. She just wasn't in love with him. In the back of her mind, she still had hope that Nick Carter was going to smarten up. She knew if she had just one night with him, he would leave whoever he was with. From the photos she's seen online of the girl at Kush, she wasn't exactly eye candy. Not that she's seen her face, but from her figure. She was meaty. Why the hell would he want to be with a fat girl when he could be with her?

She slowly pushed herself from the door until she was in a standing position. Everything was moving and she giggled again. She glanced around the quiet room and her roommate suddenly came into mind. She grinned as she knew that she was probably in her room asleep, alone. She most likely got home early and she couldn't help but smirk.

Who shouldn't wait up for who now?

She hesitantly walked to the stairs. Her hand gripped the wooden railing as she pulled herself on the first step. She was way too drunk for this...she should have asked Ian to come in, but he had to be at work in a few hours. With his new job she was lucky if she got to see him twice a week. Slowly but surely she made it to the top of the staircase and as quietly as she could, she made it to Kimberly's room. She saw the door wasn't even shut and she glanced inside to see it was empty. It was quite clear she hasn't come home and her jaw clenched. It must have been nice to be dating a guy that was loaded. She could feel as jealousy began to devour her. That should be her! It made absolutely no sense! How the hell could she nail that kind of guy when she looked like she did?! What irked her was that the guy wasn't even bad looking. The only off thing about him was that he was wearing sunglasses at night, but from his body structure he was fit and quite appealing. Was she that good at sex? Vicky coughed out a loud laugh from the thought. Yeah right! She barely even gave it up.

A dizzy spell soon fell upon her and she had to hold onto the thin door before she lost balance. She slowly stood up and sluggishly stepped out of the room and down the hall into hers. She glanced at the clock and groaned. She had to be up in six hours to do a photoshoot with Kenzie, which she didn't even want to do. Lately she has been so different; she felt like she was losing her best friend. She moved to Florida to be near her and now it was like everything was changing. She felt as depression settled in and she gradually made it to her bed, collapsing on it. Things weren't going as well as she hoped. She needed to get out of this funk, but how? She needed a rich guy...why wouldn't Nick call her? It baffled her mind to the core. They would be perfect for each other...maybe he lost her number. She'd have to get in touch with him somehow. She was determined. Despite being aggravated with Kenzie, her new boyfriend was friends with AJ...maybe she could pull some strings. It was the least she could do after all.
