*Chapter Thirteen*

Kenzie could barely sleep that night. She took a long scalding hot shower to try to rid the filth she felt. Whore kept on repeating in her mind. She wasn't a whore. She never slept around; she just wanted one night of fun. Was that too much to ask? Vicky did it all the time and she didn't consider herself a whore. So why was she any different? AJ was so nice too...he made her feel good and then Nick Carter had to go in and ruin it. She liked him, he made her laugh. It wasn't just a night of sex.

When she first got there, he let her in and they talked. They sat on the couch in the large living area and had almost an hour conversation. He seemed lonely. To Kenzie it seemed he just wanted a friend. They bought room service and it was a really nice time. Then he pushed her hair behind her ear and told her how beautiful she was and kissed her. Kissed her in a way she hadn't been before. It was nice; it made her feel wanted. Then one thing lead to another and yes, they had sex. Was that so wrong?

Nick fucking Carter had to spoil everything. He had to make her feel like she dirty. She wasn't. She didn't like him, not a bit. How the hell did Vicky find him attractive? She had to tell her.

No she scolded herself.

How could she? She lied to her and told her that she was going to some guy's named Adam. She would never forgive her...unless she told her he bailed and AJ saw her. It was tempting...she may have to do that. She glanced to the clock and saw it was almost eight in the morning. They had a photoshoot that afternoon. She'd tell her, but she'd throw in a few fibs. She just had to make her see what an asshole Nick was. He was nothing to obsess over.

Nick was leaning against the blue wall, backstage of a local talk show studio. They were getting touched up before they went on the air. He was exhausted. He got maybe two hours of sleep, if that. He didn't care though, he had a fantastic night with his girlfriend. After the interview he would be with her; that's all he cared about. It's the only thing he cared about. Kevin was getting powdered by the makeup artist. AJ was glaring at him across the room with eyes like daggers. He knew he was still pissed off at him because of last night. Well maybe he shouldn't have called his girlfriend a fat fan. He would have peacefully walked into his room, but he had to open his fucking mouth.

Brian couldn't help but notice the death stares he and AJ were giving. Their hostility was really starting to effect the group. They barely recorded four songs. They couldn't even work together without getting into a fight. It was ridiculous. At the rate they were going, they would never finish the album. Maybe they shouldn't have jumped into it so quickly. After all, they were still doing promo for the one they just released not even four months ago.

"So what's going on with you two?" He asked as he walked over to Nick, "Is it still about that girl?"

He shrugged, "I have no problem. He's the one with his head up his ass."

"Is she really worth all this? I mean Nick, you and AJ have been friends long before – "

"Just save it. I don't want to get into it with you too. I like her, AJ doesn't and he's being an ass. I won't tolerate him calling her names constantly."

He sighed, "But it's interfering with your job. We're way behind and it worries me. You guys have never been this bad."

"That's because I was always fucked up! I was fucking a girl every night; AJ as my wingman. I don't want that life anymore. He does...he can't deal with my choice. I'm over it...I'm happy...I don't care if he's not. I'm not going to let him ruin this for me."
