*Chapter Eighteen*

Vicky could feel as annoyance was swimming through her. She couldn't believe that her roommate wouldn't give her a lousy one hundred dollars. With the way she worked, that should be nothing! She knew Toni must have influenced her to turn her down. She loathed Toni. Whenever she was around Kimberly, she always ended up turning her into some snotty bitch. She couldn't wait until she went back to California.

How the hell did she even allow herself to become friends with her in the first place? She thought back to their school days when they were glued to the hip. It was so long ago she almost forgot they were once friends. At one point in Vicky's life she wasn't the prettiest girl. Thinking about that was almost hard to even believe. The popular girls would pick on her in middle school, if only they could see her now. Toni was wandering around in the school yard and saw a girl around her age being picked on. She was always taught to do the right thing. Even though she didn't know who she was at the time, she ran them off by threatening to tell if they didn't leave her alone. Funny how back then all anyone needed to do to scare someone was threaten to tell on them. Vicky was mesmerized by her kindness and they immediately became friends. She didn't have many of those. Unlike today. They stayed friends all the way up to high school.

Toni was never an ugly girl; she was very cute with her light brown curly hair and bright green eyes. She had a petite body, but never dared to show it off. Her mother taught her better. Vicky thought she was crazy. She had the figure to flaunt, so why not? She would look at magazine of girls in their bikinis and wished someday that would be her, she just didn't have the confidence for it then. She wanted to be one of those girls where men would go ooh and ahh when they saw her.

When she met Henry Wallstone something sparked inside of her. She would do anything for him. He was every girl's crush at Newsberry High...everyone except Toni's. She could careless about him. So what if he had a built body and hypnotizing blue eyes? His hair was black like the night that was spiked into tiny thorns. Toni knew better; she wasn't falling for that. He was a stupid jock who was a complete jerk. She wouldn't give him the time or day, even though he tried. Oh, did he ever try. Jealousy fill within Vicky as she recalled the memory. He would corner Toni against her locker; his arm over her head as he would talk to her, his face so close to hers. He would have given anything if she said yes. Yet she always pushed him away. Vicky slowly began to grow a hatred towards her best friend. Henry belonged to her; he was hers the moment she saw him.

Then it happened. Henry glanced over to Vicky and smirked; she turned into a puddle. He knew he would never have Toni, so he went after her best friend. Vicky didn't care if that was the reason, she just wanted him and she didn't care how. They began to date, even though Toni told her it was a bad idea. She ignored her, assuming she was just jealous. Pretty soon she had become one of the most popular girls in school. It didn't take long, all she had to do was walk hand in hand down the hallway with him. She began to wear her dark thick hair down instead of up in the tight bun she was so used to. She stopped wearing baggy sweatshirts and jeans. She almost always wore a skirt to school and tight shirts; so tight her breasts lifted up. All eyes were on her. Funny what a little hairspray and makeup could do.

Henry would constantly tell her how beautiful she was. He loved her body; he would tell her over and over again. Virtue wasn't a big deal to her. He treated her like a queen, but it didn't take long before she saw other boys in the school eying her. She was so grateful for Henry for unlocking that door so her true self could come pouring out. He was a little crushed when she broke up with him for another player on the football team, but this was her prime. She just lost her virginity and wanted to have fun. She was seventeen and was going to live it up as long as she could.
