Part Eight...

“Nate? Shane? Would you like a drink.?” The girl asked stepping directly between Nate and I. 

“ Sure.” replied Nate. She handed them each a drink that I didn’t recognize. Nate took a sip and so did Shane but the girl didn’t leave. I opened her mind and saw what she was planning I knocked the glasses out of the boys hands but it was obvious that the potion was already taking affect over them.

 “Oh my gosh, Kayla!” I screeched. Cassandra shot her head up and gasped. 

“Shane are you, OK?” Cassandra asked in a loving tone.

“How could I not be?” he replied, in a rising voice “I’m with the love of my life, right Kayla?”

“Awe, right babe.” Kayla cooed.

“You did not just call my boyfriend, babe.” it was not a question it was Cassandra stating a fact. Cassandra's eyes flashed with furry.

“Cassandra cool it.” I told her.

“Right after I kick this slut’s skinny white ass!” she said through her teeth not looking at me. I pushed her back and kept her there.

“You will not touch the woman I love!” that shook me Nate had never risen his voice at me or Cassandra. I lost hold of Cassandra and she sprang but Nate was ready he grabbed her by the waist. Immediately I jumped into Kayla’s mind and I read her thoughts as they ran around her head

they’re perfect how would they think of being with me for ever I might be 14 but I’ll be older soon. Then they’ll have to love me. 

Oh no, I thought. she was human and Her blood she’s been drank from before. I felt a tap on my shoulder and Peter was behind me I was too lazy to turn and see what he wanted and he let something slip a memory from being kidnapped it was small but important it was Kayla talking to him about being stuck with him for years and them testing the elixir on her and the effect it had on her, vampire saliva will kill her when it enters her body. 

During my exchange with Peter. Shane, Kayla and Nate all headed for a private theater momentarily empty to talk to the extent of what Kayla knew. She was a human. I was left no choice.

"Peter, Danny, and Cassandra come with me I need you don’t. ask questions, yet." i ordered trying to keep calm.

I lead them to the room that Nate and Shane went in to with Kayla then turned to Peter to tell me what  he remembered.

“Um we’ll she made it apparent that she was in love with me.” said Peter.

“We could use that to our advantage, Ya know?” I said.

“Whoa no I know what your thinking no Lizzy!” he said his eyes widened. I gave him a small pout through my eye lashes.

“Please?” I asked softly.

“I’ll give you a deal get my boyfriend to agree to the whole plan and I’ll do it.” he told me he doubted me far too much.

“Danny?” I called cheerfully.

“Peter I’m with her go with it!” Danny called back as Peter turned to glare at me.

I made my face serious and looked him up and down “you should know better.” then I smiled and held out my right hand and said “come on.” as he took it. I walked in to the theater with Cassandra and Peter behind me we didn’t have to be quiet they weren’t paying attention to anyone but her. 

Peter was walking ahead shaking his head “tisk, tisk, tisk, and all this time I thought you loved me Kayla?” her head wiped around at the sound of his voice.
