“That is fucking it,” I said through my teeth as I got up and walked to Shane’s chair, “Shane come on,” when he resisted I looked at Cassandra, who I knew was on my side, and she gave him the look that can crack a diamond he grunted and followed me to an empty class room.

“What do you want Lizzy?” he asked as soon as I closed the door.

“What do I want?” I asked him, “I want to know what I did to make you hate me?”

“You want to know, Lizzy?” he dropped his eyes, “I hate your relationship with my family.” he cleared his throat, “I don’t want you to be anywhere near them.”

I grabbed a counter top as I lost my balance “what?”

“Lizzy you can’t live with us anymore,” he told me, “I regret letting Kevin bringing May, Nate, and you together. I want you out before we arrive home today. I hate you. You‘re weak, spoiled, and pathetic. I despise you and always will.”

Tears began to roll down my cheeks as I shot out the class room door, out the school door, and into my car. I drove to the house and ran into the doors right past Kevin who called after me as I headed up the stairs to my room and I started piling clothes into boxes and suitcases. I was crying so hard that I didn’t hear Kevin come into the room until he spoke up.

“Lizzy what’s wrong? “ he asked calmly.

“Go away,” I cried.

“Lizzy talk to me,” he demanded as he walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around me to get me to drop my cloths and look at him. When he got me turned around I stopped struggling and just cried into his polo shirt. I must have passed out about then because I woke up to Shane, Nate, and Kevin arguing.

“You told her WHAT?” Nate shouted.

“Shane how could you tell her that?” Kevin called.

“I didn’t have a choice,” he replied to his brothers, “I can’t tell her the truth.”

“You could try Shane!” Nate was extremely frustrated you could hear it in his voice.

“How do you tell someone like Lizzy; a loving, caring, best friend type of girl that?” he asked terrified.

I sat up and listened when no one said anything I did what I did best.

‘Nate what is he talking about what can’t he tell me?’

‘Lizzy you’re awake’ was all that came to mind with him.

“Go in and tell her if you want Cassandra to ever speak to you again,” Nate ordered as he opened my door. Shane trudged in with his head down when he looked up at me I saw a black and blue hand mark across the right side of his face.

“Wow, how long was I asleep?” I asked slightly taken aback by my scratchy voice.

“About four hours according to Kevin,” he mumbled regrettably.

“And Cassandra did that to your face?” I asked getting off the bed and walking to Shane.

“Ya,” he replied flinching when he touched it, “she didn’t like me making her best friend cry.”

“Come on I’ll fix it,” I told him, “just don’t  cry ok?”

“Ok,” he replied smiling then his smile dropped, “Lizzy I have to tell you why I was such a jerk and said what I did,” he commented as I walked him to my bathroom to get some cold water on his face before we went to the kitchen to find an ice pack, “I don’t want my family hurt and well do you remember when I called you a vampire queen?” when I nodded he continued, “well that’s why those guys are after you because it you sleep with anyone other than Nate because you have been intimate you create rulers of the vampire world.”
