“Sissy?” I opened my eyes to see William’s face three inches from mine, “Sissy someone’s here.”
“Who?” I asked propping myself up on my arm.
“May’s mommy,” he says pulling at my sleeve.
“Great, hang on I’ll get up and change,” I stated as I threw the covers off me. The clock read three o’clock pm I slept for sixteen hours. It didn’t take long to wake my self up and get dressed. I was running down the stairs when I got a good look at Carissa, she had her pixy hair down in a business tone. Her trench coat was wet which told me it was raining outside, she was smiling when she saw me she was holding a book in her arms that I didn‘t recognize.
“Carissa what are you doing here?” I asked giving her a hug. “not that I’m not excited to see you, but you know.”
“Yes I understand,” she replied, “I just had to bring this to you.” she handed me the book and I read the title.
“What is this?” I asked her I flipped open the cover and found a hand written note.
“To my misguided,” I read, “I have so much I want to tell you but not a lot of time I know your whole life you will be confused I just hope this book will help I found it in your dads library. Look I can’t always be there to tell you about who you are, so in short you are the vampire queen you are destined to declare the identity of your king (the boy you let turn you) when you do that his families blood will change too. I only just found out about you this year. You are destined for hardships and pain but I will guide you when necessary. Much love, Your Guide?” I looked up from the book and found Carissa rising an eyebrow at me.
“Do you know who this guide is?” she asked me.
“No, he called me misguided,” I commented, “I wonder why?”
“Lizzy?” Peter called as he scurried down the stairs when he saw Carissa he came to a halt about three feet from me. “Oh, Hello Miss Jonas.” shortly behind him was Danny with a different response, “Carissa,” he ran full speed into Carissa’s arms.
“Hello Danny, how are you? it’s been forever,” she laughed.
“I’m great, I mean I’m back, I’m happy, and I’ve kidnapped the kidnapped,” he laughed comically.
“Lizzy I really must go,” she smiled at me then at Danny, “it was nice seeing you again Danny.” she turned back around and walked out the front door without saying another word. I smiled as I watched her leave she had always been in contact but for the last month she hasn’t called or contacted us in any way.
“Lizzy?” Danny voiced after a minute of silence, “what did she want?”
“To give me this book,” I answered as I turned to look at them, “it says it’s from my Gide.” I turned the book around in my hands for a few minutes. “It’s my dads diary.”
The boys left me to get the kids ready for our movie night while I curled up on the couch and read the diary. My dad was researching thing about how come I was born part human, there were news paper clippings and pages ripped out of books, he even had a list of websites for some of his research (I made a mental note to look them up later). By the time I got to the third entry the boys had everyone ready for the movie night.
Nate and everyone else met us there. The movie got done in about two hours and we were out at dinner in no time Nate sat on one side of me and Shane on the other, the kids were in a separate room we had rented out for them, they had noticed something was up and the of Corse thought the worst first. After twenty minutes I got annoyed at the theories racing around in Shane’s head I got up from the table for a break and right then I let down too much guard and Shane saw it the book the look on his mom’s face all of it and worry struck his face.
“Lizzy?!” he gasped.
“Oh zip it and come here,” I sighed as I dragged him to the front lawn of the restaurant, “it’s no big deal.”
“Lizzy someone knows about you,” he level his voice, “maybe even my brother and sister too.”
“Ya probably everyone knew he turned me,” when I got a look at his blank expression I explained “ ‘you are destined to declare the identity of your king (the boy you let turn you) when you do that his families blood will change too’ don’t you see you turned Cassandra after I had been turned your blood had been changed before that so you could pass it to her but it can only go so far. She is the last of your strand, Nate and I can turn as many as we see fit but we can turn that part of the gene on and off as we please. May could turn one person and share the gene but she bit her self last week accidentally so her strand doesn’t exist.”
“Wait so we have been flipping out for no reason we yelled at you, I kicked you out, and you and my brother fought… for nothing?” Shane’s face twitched twice as we walked inside and he sat back in his chair before speaking, “ great… now I feel like a jerk.”
“Shane?” Cassandra asked in her sweetest voice which made Shane get up and walk over to her.
“Yes my love?” her replied kneeling next to her chair.
“You thought you were protecting her she understands,” she caressed his face in her right hand and looked up at me, “right Lizzy?”
“Shane I get it,” I walked over to Shane and put my hand on his shoulder, “I’m ok I promise.” I kissed his fore head and walked over to were Nate sat, he pushed out from the table and pulled me onto his lap. I leaned my head against his chest and sat there while no one said a word. My attention was caught when a vision hit me like a curveball.
“ Lizzy?” Nate asked when I returned to reality, “Lizzy you’re shaking.”
I opened my mouth to speak but no sound came out. I looked at Shane his expression was blank I felt him enter my mind and he gave me the image of him unable to speak just like me.
“Shane what’s going on?” Nate asked but Shane wasn’t paying him any attention. I stood up and the water works began. Shane shot to me and wrapped me in his arms. He rested his chin on my head.
Right then someone knocked on the on the wall behind everyone right in my line of sight. My jaw dropped and the tears stopped dead in their tracts. Everyone caught me stair and turned to look with me.
“Hi baby,” Jake voiced at Peter.
