I've just been tryna heal lol, I've been so lonely and defeated lately, but I'm still trying to stick to my goals, especially finishing this story. Thanks for all the continued support, y'all are a big source of motivation.
If y'all take anything, and I mean anything, from my stories, including this one, if you see the signs of any sort of relationship in your life becoming toxic, please please please remove it. We're all queens and kings, and we deserve so much, and toxicity isn't one of those things.
I wish I learned this over a year ago, and now I'm going through the consequences everyday, and I wouldn't wish this type of life on anyone. I love y'all, and I need us to love ourselves so much more.

Chris pulled into the parking lot with seven eleven in it and turned down his stereo. "You getting out or me?"
"You can,-" I started as my phone started vibrating from underneath me.
I grabbed my phone and looked at my screen in surprise. Where'd he been all day, and why was he choosing now of all times?"
"Hello?"
"Yo? You good? You ain't text me back all day I was just checking on you." Dave questioned, and I could hear concern laced all in his tone.
I sighed. Damn, here I was feeling like I needed to be sneaky and hide who I was talking to, and he was just trying to make sure I was okay.
"Yeah I'm fine, I got really drunk earlier and took a nap."
"I figured." He laughed sending a chill down my spine. "I know you was lit so i just wanted to make sure you got home safe and were good."
"Yeah I'm great."
"Whatchu doing? I miss you."
I looked over at Chris who was peering at me talking on the phone like he was waiting for my next response.
"I miss you too, I'm at seven eleven right now."
"Oh okay, you still with your homegirls?"
I looked over at Chris, I wish.
"Nah, Chris's mom wanted something out the store, so I'm getting it for her."
"Oh okay, everything been cool with that?"
"It's complicated." I started. "There's a lot of things that need to be handled."
"Likeee?" His voice dragged on.
"I'll talk to you about it later, too much going on right now."
"Oh, okay, well if you busy." Dave's tone changed, sounding drier and less interested. Understandable, but damn.
"Nah I'm not, what are you doing? How's your day been?"
"I just been chilling, I was worried about you for a lil bit, but I see you're good, so I'ma let you get back to it."
Get back to it? Get back to what? Driving to the store?
"Why you sound like that?"
"No reason, talk to you later Nia."
The three beeps filled my ear, instantly pissing me off. What did he hang up for?
"Your dude sounds mad." Chris mumbled from beside me, obviously just trying to hear his own voice at the moment.
"Shut up." I felt my eyes roll by themselves as I went to my messages.
Damn I had left him on read, and forgot to text back, and now it was hours later and I was riding around drunk with Chris.
