It's Complicated
Christopher Maurice Brown
"Mr.Brown will be allowed to see Royalty fifteen days of the calendar, we will discuss splitting custody depending on how this month goes. There will be no child support adjustment at this time. Court is adjourned." The gavel dropped and my heart did as well.
I couldn't believe it, I really couldn't believe it. All these months of back and forth bullshit, and finally we were making steps in the right direction, and it seemed so surreal.
"Oh Chris wow." My momma wrapped her arms around me, swinging from side to side.
I know she was relieved too, she'd been through all of this with me.
"I can't believe it mama." I cried into her shoulder.
"I told you it'd happen, I told you."
I just had to stay down and go through all the bullshit I had this year, losing my fiancé, almost losing my record deal, and worst of all losing myself.
But I'd found a new me, the old Chris had lived, learned, made mistakes, many many many mistakes, and now I was being reborn with new chances, and I couldn't be more thankful.
"Congratulations Christopher." Nia and her lawyer Lisa Bloom smiled as they walked up to my mom and I. She was still sniffling and praising God, but now her face was sour as hell.
"Thank you. Congratulations to y'all too, now I get to be with our daughter even more." I smiled genuinely, cause I knew she was just raging inside.
It's sad she didn't know God didn't like ugly, and she was hideous.
I fought the urge to text Nia the good news as I was being led by security to the car, but thought against it.
She had told me she was out of town visiting Dave, and in time I would completely understand that. I understood now, I understood it was gonna take time and faith, but I was gonna move on, and meet someone else God put in my path.

Yes I missed her, and thought about us and what could've been everyday, but that's all it was, thoughts.
Free tonight? We celebrating or nah? - Ebony, 1:26 PM
If by celebrating she meant me putting my dick in her mouth, yeah, we'd definitely be celebrating.
Ebony had been a blessing in disguise to me lately, in ways other than business. She was great at planning and organizing, and even better at sucking on balls.
Yes I was completely aware I was using her, but I still had things to work on, so in time I'd get better. At least I could acknowledge it, and if she wanted to help with that, be my guest.
I was done trying to force things, and people to stay in my life. If you wanted to go, the door was open, just know you couldn't come back in once it was closed.
Shit was complicated, for a lack of a better word, but it was getting better, better in the worst ways.
I'd gained a lot of leeway with Royalty, but I'd lost my lover and best friend in the process.
I'd lost my mind for a little while, but I'd gained understanding, a better relationship with God, and a new outlook on life.
Sometimes you had to lose yourself, to find yourself.
