🎶Sorry...Is it too late now to say sorry?🎶
Leon's POV
The moment I entered the house was the moment I was greeted by Jill who was reading a book on the sofa. I was quite surprised to find her here but my surprise was not shown however.
My face remained strict as I turned to closed the door and Jill stood, closing the romance novel she was reading.
The billionaire's mistress...I mentally shook my head, the things women would read.
Jill spoke, my back facing her while she did as I placed the key in the door, staring at the knob with depressed eyes. Ever since I heard Wesker conversation with my wife I was not in the best of moods to be honest.
"Chris was supposed to get me but he said he would be delayed for twenty four hours...twenty four hours became weeks" she stated as the door sounded a click as I faced her.
Well it was Chris's turn to disappear and sincerely hoped he did not or would not make the same mistake I did. Noe that would explain why Jill made s visit without her husband or her other half rather.
"You are always welcomed here Jill" I told her and she gave me a smile, one that didn't reach her eyes like it normally did. Actually her lips barely moved.
I found this strange as Jill was never the type of person who displayed a dull persona. She always made jokes and even with nothing to laugh at the made her own jokes.
Jill being this way was indeed strange. I didn't say anything however, I simply watched as she made her way towards the guest room.
Her body being dragged in depression as she took the first step towards her destination.
"Well thank you. Good night Leon" she stated dully as she mounted the stairs.
"Good night Jill" I replied, running my hand through my hair as I took a deep breath. Well I guess I wasn't the only one having a rough day.
I spent I entire flight thinking about it yet I had no idea how I would face my wife. How would I even tell her what did? What will I say to her about what I heard on the phone?
After minutes of pondering I finally decided to venture the unknown. Unknown because I had not the slightest clue how to tell the woman I vowed loyalty to that I had cheated on her.
This was similar to swearing not to commit suicide while hanging my tie to a tree, hopping from a bucket. I opened or push the bedroom door rather, careful enough not to wake Claire.
Claire was asleep, her small figure showing the bodily gestures of a sleeping person. Her back was to me, her hair not in its usual pony tail for some strange reason.
It was a complete mess, one would actually mistake it for fire.
She looked peaceful (besides her hair of course) , calm and collected. That left me no reason but to wonder, what prompt Claire to meddle with Wesker behind my back?
Had she fallen for the tyrant again or maybe she was never over him to begin with? I switched the bitter thought, focusing on Claire once again.
Claire spoke, intensely surprising me as based on what I saw, I saw a sleeping woman.
"I need to tell you something" she barely say, her blue eyes moist for a reasons unknown to me.
Then again she was the one to believe that, I did hear her conversation with her brother's enemy in the presence of my son. I knew exactly what she wanted to talk about.
She had cheated on me...
My chest contracted as I took a seat next to Claire who sat up. We held each others stare, awkward silence swallowing us.
"So do I" I told her as she placed a lock of hair behind her ear. I looked to the floor. If she was going to confess cheating then I should do the very same
I then cleared my throat.
"You first " I added swiftly, heat making it way in the room all of a sudden. I pulled a button, discreetly fanning with my shirt.
"Wesker stopped by", when those words left her mouth I turned my neck so swiftly I had a encounter with pain in doing so. I was not surprised about Wesker, the easiness in her voice was what surprised me.
Did she just say Wesker stopped by? In this house? She said that as of there was no danger in him doing so.
"What?" I asked in a yelled voice, my fist that rested next to my thigh clenched.
"Wesker came by while you were away" she repeated and I stood, staring down at her. She said this as if the blond and I shared a friendship.
The volcano roaring inside me finally erupt, my throat parched. Her around him was one thing but this, this was too much.
Why didn't she just hand my birth certificate over to the blond bastard?
"He came here?" I asked, trying to sound calm and Claire apparently thought I was.
"He got in...I don't know how and..." I cut her off, approaching her to examine her body for any bruises. She looked at me strangely as I did this, swatting my hand away afterwards.
"He didn't hurt us Leon, I caught him looking at Junior and the other times I saw him, he...", I didn't allow her to finish however.
"The other times?" I growled a question, my arms crossed as she stared up at me. Her statement justified that Wesker was actually here more times than one.
A bit to friendly for my liking.
"Well if you would let me finish!" She yelled, apparently irritated by the fact that I seemed to cut her statements short far to often.
What irritated me was the fact that it was possible for Wesker to spend the days I was absent here with Claire. I didn't want to think it but I could just picture them doing the things Jill was reading about in my house.
On every bed...on every table. I swallowed the thought, trying to remain calm.
I failed...
"Finish what Claire?!...while I was worried sick about you were busy with the man who swore to kill you...in my house with my son!" I yelled, Claire taking a step away from me.
I usually had my temper in check but in this moment I didn't. How could I?
"He didn't hurt us..." She didn't get to finish as I was eager to get my point across.
"I fucking heard Claire...your pocket answered the phone you refused to answer!" I yelled, running my fingers through my hair as I closed my eyes.
"Was that the reason you were so busy? Did you sleep with him?" I asked, trying to hush my voice only to make it crack.
"What? Where the hell did that come from?" She yelled and I gave her a nasty glare. The glare I gave when pissed.
"Did you..."
"No I didn't! Now I'm beginning to think I should have! At least he cares about me...your career will always be above me Leon...I could have chested on you but the fact that while you ignored me for weeks I didn't makes me feel like an idiot!" Claire yelled as she walked out on me, slamming the door behind her.
