Albert's PovWe were now walking through the Forrest, a bit off course as the original plan was to go through the city. In that method we would move swiftly and reach our targeted destination quickly.
With our new found friends we had no choice but to take the long way. Just when I thought my string of bad luck couldn't get any worst.
Claire hadn't spoken since our disagreement and for the strangest of reasons I felt like shit. While the others didn't see it I could.
Instead of walking she ambled. Ambled because I could not control my temper as when as I controlled many things.
My anger always seem to get the best of me and even though I chose not to admit it, I did care about Claire. Her well being had become apart of my interest
A sick thing because I still wanted something with her even though she wore a ring on her finger. I looked ahead, if we moved fast enough we could clear this Forrest.
Claire walked behind me, something I was not thrilled about as I always chose to stay at the back. The fact that she had a child in or midst was adding to this belief.
With her behind me I can't protect her. I can't defend what I can't see.
I stopped, Claire halting behind me the moment I did. It was a gesture for her to go around me but Claire didn't quite get that.
I sighed.
"I rather it that you are before me miss Redfield" I told her firmly, nothing said as she walked by me, stepping over a few shrubs.
Jill looked at the onin her hand, Ada walking on as if nothing bothered her. Oh for heck's sake why lie...nothing bothered her.
All the reasons I chose her to be my partner in crime.
"Claire I don't think he has much time left" Jill stated, doing the same thing I did earlier. Being the bearer of bad news.
Claire lowered, taking the child from her waist to lean him on the root of a tree slowly. His breaths were slow, his skin discolored to match his eyes.
Death was knocking on his front door, I could see it.
Leon loaded his gun, Ada doing the same only for Jill and Claire to issue nasty looks. I really didn't blame the pair.
Claire rubbed the child's forehead, tears wearing her eyes as she did. Out of all the persons I've come across, Claire was the hardest when it comes to letting go.
The moment that child had been bitten was the moment his grave was sealed. Jill stood, her eyes looking the same way Claire's did.
Her tears were only shown while Claire's fell.
"Claire...we can't take him with us" she stated firmly. I looked at her for a moment, at least one among us was capable of using the brain.
"I can't leave him here either" Claire stated and I looked away from the child.
"We must continue" was all I said, Jill and Ada nodding in agreement. Claire sobbed, holding the child's hand tightly.
"Whats your name sweetheart? I'm Claire" she asked as her voice cracked.
"Max...am I going to die?" He asked and I crossed my arms. We had no time for this.
"I'm so sorry Max..." Claire stated as the others began walking away, hearts broken as they left me to be the bad guy.
I knelled, my gun resting on the child's fore head as he stared up at me with empty eyes. Claire stood, looking away from me as she waited for the shot to sound.
The child shivered, the cold affecting now more than ever due to his condition.
"My dad would have done the same thing" the moment he said that I froze. Whatever courage I had to kill him was drained.
This child had no one. Nothing to live for and no motivation to live. It was all the reason for me to kill him.
However I couldn't. I just could not pull that trigger.
Looking at this child was like looking at myself. I stood, Claire facing me as she looked to the child, surprising lighting her face to find the child alive.
I stared at her, Claire holding my stare as she swallowed. My chest constricted, something that had not occurred before.
Whatever ailment I had i really needed to get it fix.
I handed her a vaccine, something I intended not to give as my true intention was to have the child murdered. Whether or not he was infected he would only slow us down.
The moment Claire's brain registered what it was she threw herself in the dirt, the vaccine being issued immediately.

The moment I heard panting behind me I stopped walking, my face twitching as I faced the five figures behind me. Jill stared up at me, her hands on her knees as she sucked in air.
"While you aren't human some of us still need our legs for future use not to mention our lungs" Jill stated breathlessly, Ada nodding in agreement, unable to speak.
"A deadly virus is lose and your legs bother you?" I gritted, Leon drinking what just may be his entire water supply.
"You're crazier than they say if you expect us to act like machines" Leon stated bitterly, indicating that he wasn't very fond of me.
The feeling is mutual Mr Kennedy.
I looked around, a small house seen in the midst of trees and bushes. Well I classified it as a house being that it had a roof, doors and windows. Ada followed my eyes, her gun raised as she led the way.
Well if she met her end in there her blood would not lie on my shoulder. For one I spoke not one word to give her the go ahead.
Kind of her to volunteer however.
"Why must every god damn shelter we come across reek?"Jill complained as we approached our oasis in the dessert.
"You are always welcome to sleep outdoors Miss Valentine" I told her, Ada firing at god knows what as she was the one far ahead of us.
"I honestly think outdoors would have been a better idea based on the bullets Ada fired" Leon stated but when there was an animalistic cry all but me were inside that house.
I shook my head, my pace remaining the same as I approached the house. The door was closed behind me, Claire, Jill, Max and Leon staring at a horrific sight.
The house had no back walls, a door being utilized for something we could have entered just by walking around. Max clutched Claire in fear, Leon staring as though a star had fallen from the sky.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me" Ada fumed as she stared in horror.
What did I do?
I simply sat down in a corner, my gun in my hand as I observed the dark Forrest.
