Taehyung: I can see that you're getting my texts. Please, Ails.

I exhaled sharply, locking my phone and tossing it onto the table before running a hand over my face.
"Is that Kook you're texting?" Jin asked, casually sipping his iced americano. His tone was light, but his eyes were sharp with curiosity.
I sighed, stirring the whipped cream into my coffee with my straw, watching as it slowly blended into the dark liquid. "No," I muttered. "He called after one of his meetings earlier. He's been busy with the upcoming launch."
I had no appetite for the drink anymore, and I leaned back in my seat, arms folded across my chest.
Jin had shown up unannounced, declaring that he'd cleared his schedule for the weekend and, in his own words, had come to "bless us all with his handsome presence." Unfortunately, his timing was impeccable—he arrived just as Jungkook was heading out for work. The disappointment on Jungkook's face was clear, but I all but shoved him out the door, promising Jin would still be around when he got back.
What took Jin by surprise, however, was the way Jungkook kissed me before he left, murmuring, "Don't miss me too much, beautiful," before heading off, leaving me flustered and Jin looking like he had witnessed a crime.
"Gross," he had said, his expression scrunched in mock horror—though the knowing smile that followed told another story.
Now, he smirked at me from across the table, leaning back in his chair like he had all the time in the world. "I half-expected to see you married with ten kids by now."
I nearly choked on my drink. "Excuse me?" I sputtered. "A bit soon, don't you think?"
Jin shrugged, his smirk widening. "Whatever you say, Mrs. Jeon."
Rolling my eyes at his teasing, I wiped condensation off my cup and flicked the droplets at him, but he only laughed.
We were sitting in a small but elegant coffee shop not far from Jungkook's place. I had stumbled upon it earlier in the week while wandering the upscale district he lived in. Unlike the usual crowded chain cafés, this one had an intimate charm. The walls were lined with cascading plants, hanging from brass fixtures and woven baskets. Soft lanterns cast a golden glow against the dark wood interior, and stylish seating—plush velvet chairs and sleek marble tables—gave it an air of quiet sophistication. The large windows let in just enough natural light, offering a picturesque view of the bustling streets outside. It was the kind of place where you could lose yourself in a book for hours or have deep conversations over steaming cups of coffee served in handcrafted pottery.
At least Jungkook let me roam freely. With Taehyung, even stepping outside alone had felt like a crime.
Jin's voice cut through my thoughts. "Alright, then who are you texting?"
Silently, I slid my phone across the table. His expression darkened as he scrolled through the messages, his fingers tightening around the device. I filled him in on everything he had missed—the encounter at the bowling alley, Taehyung's sudden desperation to talk.
"He only cares now that he's seen me happy with Jungkook," I said bitterly, crossing my arms. "Not a single call after we broke up. But the second he realizes I'm trying to move on, suddenly he wants to talk. He doesn't like that I'm doing just fine without him."
