The Pierces "Secret"

Josette Stark peeked into her fathers office, hoping, she would find him there. She thought that now when Obadiah was gone he'd mabye, mabye have time for her again. They could continue to build their relationship. He had said he wanted that and she wanted it to. She'd always wanted it. Now she had a chanse to make it reality. But they haden't really talked after the Obadiah incident. Then again they haden't really talked before it either. Yes but that's because he was building his suit to save the world. Her dad was a hero. Josette argued with herself. However she didn't quite belive it. Hero yes... but was building the suit really a good excuse to ignore his own daugther? Josette let out a little laugh. Her dad had ignored her before for YEARS and he haden't been building the suit then. He's changed. A part off her told her. He talked to you when he came home from Afghanistan. And forgot me days later. Another part ,a more hardened and cynical, part that woulden't take crap from anyone anymore stated. But that part was owershadowed by the more dominant one her love for Tony. The part that wanted to continue making excuses for him. Even if her better judgement told her not to.

Josette opened the door witch was unlocked. However had it been it wouldn't have stopped her. She knew how to pick a lock. When she didn't see Tony. She was surprised. He had to be here somewhere. She had already checked his lab, bedroom and the living room. This was one off the only places left.

"Dad", Josette called out. But got no answer.

"Dad", She called again and was met by silence. It was almost always this way. She searched for Tony, called for him and got nothing back. Except insults or harsh words. "Lately it hasen't been that way.", Josette defended Tony. "No it's been worse. Because now he has given you a taste of his love. And then he took it back.", the cynical part whispered angerly. Wanting to get a rise out of her. Make her see the truth in her words. Make her see the truth about Tony. He was a taker not a giver. And she needed a giver. Josette tryed to ignore it but somehow she couldn't. The words had engraved themselfes into her mind. Where they stayed. Whenever she liked it or not. "Stop it" Josette said quietly. Not wanting to belive what was right infront of her nose. "You know I'm right.", The cynical part snarled back. But Josette smothered it with a simple "he has changed". She didn't want to listen to it or belive it.

Josette looked around. Still in the doorway. Contemplating her options. JARVIS had been turned of for a few howers cause Tony wanted to make a few upgrades on him. And as far as she knew JARVIS wouldn't be turned on again today. Him being turned of was the reason why she couldn't find her dad. The house was practically a maze Tony could be anywhere. Why did this house have to be so big? She thought. And why did JARVIS have to be off now?

She was just about to go back to Tony's lab and wait for him there. Cause it was likely he might go there at some point. And when he did she wanted to be there. But then it hit her that she mabye could get some information on where Tony was and if he was here. It would definetly make things easier. But would he be mad at her if she went in?

Josette hesitated slightly. The old fear of Tony being angry resurfacing. She swallowed. Her mantra appearing in her head. It always did whenever she thought, or knew, she was doing something wrong. What Tony dosen't know dosen't hurt him. Josette took a deap breath and stepped over the threshold. Pushing her dread in the back of her mind. So she could pretend it never existed.
