Chapter 20

Feeling my way through the darkness 

guided by a beating heart. I can't tell where the journey

will end but I know where to start.

They tell me I'm too young to understand they say I'm caught up

in a dream. Well life will pass me by if I don't open my eyes.

Well that's fine by me.

So wake me up when it's all over when I'm wiser and

I'm older. All this time I was finding myself.

And didn't know I was lost.

Darkness is the only thing she sees everything is black. Josette knows that she must be unconsious. Then suddenly it feels like she is fading away like her life is slowly slipping away from her grasp. 

"Dr Strange she's not breathing", The female Dr says. 

Stephen looks at her calmly. "Does she still have a pulse?", he asks.

It feels strange she cant move she cant to anything except to think. And she likes it. Josette knows that she has to wake up and soon she's running out of time. But it couldn't hurt to stay in the darkness just a little longer.

"No", The female Dr responds. Stephen nodds. That's a problem.

He stepps towards the patient ready to give her CPR. Another electric shock might just worsen things.

It's nice just thinking. No one can hurt her here it's her safe place. 

Dr Strange presses his hands abowe her heart in the right position and continues. Whoever this is she is not dying today.

Would anyone miss her if she dosen't wake up? Would someone cry at her funeral? Pepper would and Charlie they would cry. It would be easy to just let go to do nothing and just fade away. If she did all her problems would dissapair. She wouldn't have to feel guilty for lying to Sarah and Tom. She wouldn't have that big void in her chest where they are supposed to be. And she wouldn't have to deal with him.

The girl is not responding to the treatment but Stephen continues. Giving up is not in his nature.

But if she had wanted to die she could have done it before. The fire she could have died there, she could have stayed inside. So what's different now. Of course she knows the answer to that. Her family abandoned her. And if Sarah and Tom people whom she had known for years had abandoned her that easily it was just a matter of time before Charlie and Pepper did the same. Josette already knew she couldn't live with that.

So why try to change the inventeble. 

"Let me try", The male doctor whose job he had taken said. Stephen didn't lisen and continued trying to get the girl to breath.

If Josette was still consious she would probably have taken a deep breath. But now she just looked into the darkness and let go of her control.

"Your not getting away from this one Stark", 

Josette went cold at the voice as she felt herself slipping away. It was the voice of the man who had hit her with his car and then hurt her even more by punching her ribs. This one? did it mean he had tryed to harm her before?

But honestly did it really matter now?

"Should we inform her relatives?", the woman asked.
