Daisy and Destiny

Chapter 7

Previously on Daisy and Destiny...

Suddenly we hear voices. Human voices. We hear footsteps stop.

We hear clicks of cameras.

The humans and their cameras...

They're coming near us.

"What do we do?" I whisper to Destiny, nervously.

I'm in my cat form and Destiny is in her human/wolf form.

Destiny shakes her head quickly and her wolf ears and tail disappear.

I try shaking my head, too, but I'm still a dark brown tabby cat.

Destiny walks over to me and picks me up.

"Hey!" I whisper. "What are you.."

"Shh!" she says, as the people with cameras come over and see us.

"H-hi," Destiny says. "S-s-sorry to i-interrupt your ph-photoshoot. I... I, um... my cat ran away and she... she, um... ran into the forest s-so I.... I chased after her. Have a nice day."

Destiny turned around and walked away with me in her hands. We heard snapping of cameras in the forest as we left. 

Destiny walked down the sidewalk for a while with me in her arms. 

"Hey, um..," I said, trying to think of a way to say this politely. "When are you going to put me down on the ground so I can turn back into my human form?" 

"Not until we get to my house," Destiny said a bit sternly.

"Why? The guys with the cameras are gone."

"I know. But if they happen to see both of us as humans, they'll get suspicious."

"Yeah, but... what are the chances of that happening?" 

"I just don't want to risk it, Daisy! And I definitely don't want anyone to hear you talking, so please be quiet." 

She sounded like she didn't want to argue anymore, so I stopped talking. 

I couldn't stop thinking about everything that had happened in the last few days. 

Meeting Destiny, standing up for Destiny, discovering my human/cat form and cat form. 

It just seems like something you'd only dream about. But it was happening to me... in real life. 

It's so hard to believe that a few days ago, I was the girl with no friends and no voice. But now, I have Destiny, I can talk, and I have these new and incredible abilities. 

It's so awesome. 

But I'm really tired. Tired of thinking about everything, and hiding from everything, and tired of moving. I just want to sleep. 

So without even realizing... 

I fall asleep peacefully in Destiny's arms.
