Daisy and Destiny

Chapter 6

After many minutes of running, me and Destiny slow down. We walk on the sidewalk near the woods.

"So...you must be shocked," she says out of breath. We're both really tired from running.

I look at her. I don't have my white board to write on. I can't say anything.

"You can talk now," she says, which makes me incredibly confused.

She sees my confusion, so she explains what she is trying to say.

"In your half cat form, you can talk normally. To us at least. To humans, it just sounds like meows or barks or whatever animal sound that your animal makes. It's hard to talk in human form because it's a new language to you. You have to be trained by a proffesional and it usually takes years. But you have to learn if you want to talk to humans normally and not reveal your identity. You can talk in this form to me, Daisy. Try and say your first words."

I can talk! But what do I say?

"I... I can talk now!" I say. I feel overjoyed. I've never been able to talk and I just spoke my first words! This is the happiest I've ever been!

Destiny smiles and hugs me. "You did it!"

"I did! No more white board to talk! But wait... I have so many questions."

"You can ask me. I have many answers."

"First... do my parents know about this?"

"Yes. They've just kept it a secret from you."

"Why?"

"For your own safety."

I'm silent for a few seconds. 

"But... why? What safety?"

"It's bad if humans see us. We need to be kept a secret. If humans see us, they might want to find us. Do research on us. There are people like that."

"Oh. Are my parents also animals?"

"Most likely. You can either be Pureblood, Halfblood, or Human-born. Human-born is really rare though. It means both your parents are humans, but you were born half animal. But your parents would still know that your a cat. When you're born, you have your animal ears and tail. Also, Pureblood is when both your parents are cats or animals. Halfblood is when one parent is an animal, and the other is human. And... I've already explained Human-born to you. Does this clear things up?"

"Yeah," I say. "So... what are you?"

"I'm a Pureblood," she answers casually.

"No... I mean," I say. "What animal are you?"

"I'm a wolf," she answers. She looks around a lot and then we walk into the forest a bit.

Destiny spins and now she has wolf ears and a tail.

"Woah," I say.

"But this is just my human-wolf form. This..," she says. And then she backs up and does a backflip. She turns into a real wolf. But a white wolf, with some blue in her fur. "This is my wolf form."

"Can... can I do that?" I ask.

"Can you backflip?" she asks.

"No."

"I'll teach you. Jump and curl up in a ball. Try to jump backwards. When your close to the ground, land on your feet. You probably won't get it your first time. Try it, and if you fall, I'll catch you."

"Ok," I say, nervously. Destiny walks up behind me in case I fall. She transformed back into her human form.

I jump and curl up in a ball. But I don't jump backwards and I fall.

"Ow," I say.

"It's okay. Just try again," Destiny says.

This time, I jump backwards and fall into Destiny's arms. We both blush for some reason.

My third time, I use all my might and jump backwards, curl up, and I land the flip. Before I know it, I'm a sleek dark brown tabby cat. I feel amazing. Better than my human form or human-cat form.

"Feels good, right?" Destiny says, as I roll on my back to stretch and I show my belly.

"Yes. So much better than my other two forms."

"I knew you'd like it."

Suddenly we hear voices. Human voices. We hear footsteps stop.

We hear clicks of cameras.

The humans and their cameras...

They're coming near us.

Another cliffhanger! Sorry that the whole Pureblood and Human-born and stuff like that sounded like it was from Harry Potter. And yes, I know I explained how to do a backflip when I don't even know how to do one myself. I just tried to explain how to do one the best I could. :3
