Previously on Daisy and Destiny...

After a long dinner of laughter and fun, we all finished dinner and I hugged my mom and dad goodbye. Then, me and Destiny headed to Destiny's room, planning to hang out and talk and find a series on Netflix we could binge all night together.

But as were about to walk into Destiny's bedroom, Ryan comes out of his room.

"Hey, Daisy," he says, calling my name. I turn around.

===============

I blush when I see Ryan.

"H-hey..," I say, shyly.

He stares at me for a moment. Then blushes in embarrassment as he says:

"Sorry.. I, um..," he says. "Can... can I talk to you? Alone?"

I look over at Destiny. She nods and smiles. I can tell from her face that she knows I have a crush on him.

I look back at Ryan and walk towards him. I follow him into his bedroom and he shuts the door.

His room is nice. It's orange-themed. His bed is orange with white blankets. Walls are orange. Carpet on his floor is orange. You get the point.

Around his room are pictures of him and Destiny, him and his parents, and then there's a bunch of pictures of him and this beige-colored cat he's holding.

I hear Ryan sit down next to me on his bed as I stare at a picture of Ryan and the cat.

"That's Daisy," he says. I look at him. I'm really confused, until I realize he's looking at the picture I was looking at, and talking about the cat in the picture.

I look back at the picture.

"She's really pretty," I say.

"Yeah. We were best friends.... for like, maybe two years. But we had to give her away."

I looked down. I wanted to know why, but I didn't want to ask. It was probably sad, or something he didn't want to talk about. But he kept talking.

"We gave her away because...... because a few years ago, like, three years ago, Destiny was sick for a few days. It wasn't bad... but.... it was kind of something only half animal-half humans catch sometimes. It's like getting a fever for a human. It's not she wouldn't survive it. We just call it being sick. It doesn't have a name. Nothing will happen if we accidentally spread it to humans. Getting a fever is the worst thing that could happen to them if they caught it. But... if we spread to animals.... they can get really, really sick from it. They'd most likely not survive if they caught the sickness. We didn't want anything to happen to Daisy... so we found some humans who wanted her and... the day after that.... she was gone. She went to her new home. I was so, so, so sad for weeks. But... deep down... I knew she went somewhere where they'd take good care of her and she'd live a long life."

I look at him. He stares at the picture a few seconds more, and tears form in his eyes. Some tears roll down his cheeks. He quickly wipes them away.

"A-anyways..," he says. "We're super
off-topic. The real reason I asked you to talk to me is because I.... I like you. And... I thought I might as well tell you now instead of never telling you ever."

I was shocked and I could feel myself blushing a lot.

I didn't even know what to say.

=Author's Note=
Ooooooooh. Another cliffhanger. Honestly, this may have been the saddest chapter I've written. I had no idea if I was going to even keep anything about Ryan having a cat in the story! It was just an idea. But then I thought about it and I was like: In the future when I'm writing more chapters for this story... I could use something about this cat later on.
So... you guys might need to remember this chapter about the cat in the story.
And as I just wrote that, a new idea popped into my head about how I could use the cat in this chapter in future chapters.
But we'll see what happens in future chapters.
Bye for now! :3
