Twenty-six days until my birthday.
Once I told Jami about my real family, she was surprisingly okay with it. I thought she would be at least mad, but she wasn't. She was more intrigued than anything else. But that's probably the best that I could have asked for.
Now we're just laying on our bed, staring out the ceiling. Tom is somewhere with Harrison, so we are completely bored out of our minds.
"We leave tomorrow, right?" she asks.
"Yeah, but I'm definitely going to miss this place," I sigh.
"At least we'll be able to rest," she adds. "So what are you doing tonight?"
"I don't know," I say. "But I do know what I want to do when we get back to the house."
"And what is that?" Jami asks.
"I actually have a list," I chuckle. "I want to adopt a corgi, get a belly button piercing, ride a horse, surf, skydive, swim with sharks, swim with stingrays, and bungee jump."
"Half of those sound dangerous," she says.
"Exactly," I laugh. "If I don't die before my birthday, I can say I survived something that could potentially kill me... Six times. No... Seven, if you count what happened with Gerald."
"Speaking of him..." Jami trails. "Peter mentioned something about you not telling me something that happened to you..."
"That little bitch," I chuckle. "Yeah, I kept something from you."
"..."
"What?" I ask.
"Aren't you going to tell me?" she asks.
"No. Why would I do that?" I retort.
"Because I'm your best friend," she states.
"That's not a very good reason," I say flatly.
"$50?" she offers.
"That's a good reason," I laugh. She desperately grabs her wallet, pulling the cash out of the small pocket and throws it at me. "Okay. I'm not a virgin."
.
.
.
"Can you repeat that?" she says, her voice cracking.
"I, {Y/N}," I start. "Am no longer a virgin."
"Damn," she whispers. "I always thought I'd be the first to lose my virginity out of the two of us."
"Ouch," I fake hurt and roll onto my side.
"Oh shut up," she laughs. "You thought it too."
It's true. She's always been the prettiest out of the two of us. She's always been the smartest, the funniest, the coolest. Overall, she is the better out of us. I'm surprised that Peter fell for me instead of her. Maybe... Maybe he didn't fall. Maybe he tripped. Every guy that truly gets to know both of us, trips for me but falls for her. All of our friends from high school had a crush on her. At least once, every one of them did.
So... When we go back, maybe Peter will see that he made the wrong choice. He'll see that she is better than I am in every way.
She's smarter. All A's in every subject. She could apply to Harvard and get a full ride. Me? I didn't even know New York was a state. I thought it was just a city until I started my freshman year in high school.
She's funnier. Perfect comedic timing. If she tries to make people laugh, she is able to. But she also knows when to take things seriously. Me? I'm that awkward friend that can't make a joke. I never know when to say the right thing.
She's cooler. Always has been, always will be. She never backs down and never holds back. She puts her everything into whatever she happens to be doing. Me? I'm a coward. I've always been scared to do something wrong. It's like my life is a video game, and I'm always on my last life. Nothing is worth failing. One wrong step... And I'm gone.
Peter tripped. And it's only a matter of time before he realizes.
"SNAP OUT OF IT BITCH!" Jami screams, startling me back to reality.
"Okay! Okay!" I sigh. "What were you saying?"
"I said that Tom just texted me," she repeats. "He wanted to know if we wanted to go on a double date with him and Harrison."
"And?" I ask.
"I told him that you weren't responding," she says. "And he thought I meant you were dead, so he face-timed me. And now here he is."
She shoves her phone in my face, showing Tom that I'm still alive.
"I'm not dead yet," I mumble.
"Oh, thank God," Tom sighs. "So... How about it?"
"How about what?" I ask, taking Jami's phone away. Harrison appears in the background. He actually just flew in today so he and Tom could spend time together. "Oh... Hey Haz!"
"{Y/N}!" he smiles. "Lovely to see you, darling."
"God I love English accents," I chuckle. "They're just so cute."
"Are you coming with us?" Haz asks.
"Quick question," I smile evilly. "What's your favorite color?"
"{Y/N}, no," Jami scolds.
"{Y/N}, yes," I chuckle.
"It's blue," he answers. [Idk just go with it]
"Is this going to be like the special project in your movies?" Tom asks. "The one Tony and Jami were making?"
"Yee," I answer. "I'm a walking vine. Pick us up at seven! Okay, byeeeeeeeee!" I end the call before either of them can answer.
"You're not making it," Jami glares at me.
"I'm a movie star, sweetie," I counter. "I will buy all the glitter glue in the world."
"You bitch!" she shouts, throwing a pillow at me.
"C'mon. We've got to get ready," I laugh, throwing the pillow back at her. "And if we're lucky, Harrison will fall for you and Tom will too. Worst case scenario, Tom trips for me instead of you."
"Trips?" she asks, rolling off the bed.
"Nothing," I wave her off. "Now let's get you ready for your little date with your all-time crush!"
A/N: Sorry @jami524. But in this universe you like Haz. I'm not even sure if you actually do. Oops! ALSO, This day (26) is really long in the book. I apologize in advance.
