We get into an elevator, go down to the lobby, and are met by Tom who looks like he was about to go up.
"There you are!" he laughs. "They just sent me to get you. C'mon!" He leads us to a room that contains every Avenger and Guardian. If I hadn't just been wished away by the guy I'm head over heels for, my inner fangirl would be everywhere. I smile weakly and cling to Jami's arm.
"Oh, God," Jami says, rubbing her face. "I think I drank too much cause I swear I'm seeing every Avenger in here." She nudges my back for me to answer, but I wasn't paying attention so I stumble forward instead. This causes Tom to step forward and catch me. When I look up and meet those familiar brown eyes, the whole of my body is screaming at me to run away. To push him away for hurting me. Then I remember that this isn't Peter. This is Tom. So I just step back and look at the ground.
"Sorry..." I mumble. We sit down in the empty seats, Jami on my left and Tom on my right.
"What year is it again?" Jami asks. "I can't remember like, anything."
"Twenty-eighteen," Chris P. answers. "April nineteenth."
"Just a simple question... Why were we drinking?" I ask.
"We just got together yesterday," he starts to explain. "This is where we're staying until the premiere. Anyway, we went out to celebrate the movie and drank."
"I think she meant why were she and I drinking? We aren't old enough for that," Jami says. I take a sip of my water and look back at Chris P.
"Yeah you are," he chuckles. "Both of you are twenty-one." Immediately, I spit out my water and start coughing.
"What?!" I choke out, trying, but failing, to breathe properly.
"You're kidding, right?" Jami asks, placing a hand on my back as I struggle with air.
"No, I'm not," he laughs, thinking we're just idiots that drank too much.
"You're telling me," I say, finally able to get the words out. "That we're twenty-one?" He nods and places his elbows on the table, his chin resting on the palms of his hands. I pull out my phone from my back pocket.
"Anyone know my password?" I ask. Leaning over, Tom whispers it in my ear. 57263. I enter it and the phone unlocks. Completely forgetting what I was about to do, I stare at the home screen. Holding back tears, I stand up. Everyone looks at me.
"I-I need to go," I mutter. I turn to leave, but Jami grabs my wrist. I can see the question in her eyes, so I just show her my home screen. When she sees it, her eyes widen. She immediately lets go of me, allowing me to quickly run out of the room. I go back up the elevator and to my room. When I get back in the room, I drop my phone and slump to the floor, my back pressed against the door.
This is my fault. I did this. If I hadn't told him about the nightmare, he wouldn't know about Thanos and I would still be with him right now. I want to go back, but I know I can't.
"DAMN IT!" I scream, hot tears burning my face. I hug my knees and tilt my head back. I don't know how long I sit there, crying silently, but when I open my eyes again, the moon has risen and is the only light remaining in the room. A light knock on the door scares me and I sit up, now facing it.
"{Y/N}?" The voice asks. Tom. "Please, I know you're in there. People are asking where you've been. They say have courage, and I'm trying to. I'm right out here for you. Just let me in." Smiling at the stupid reference, I stand and open the door.
"I hate Frozen," I whisper.
