"I bid you farewell and good luck, Morons," Thor smiles. "And Lady {Y/N} and Lady Jami."
We wave as the ship detaches itself and flies away to nothing but a speck. I sigh and cross my arms.
"So now what?" Jami asks.
"We go to Knowhere," Quill states. "Now, go take a nap or something."
"I love naps," I chuckle, walking out of the... room? Is it technically a room or just space? Whatever.
Jami follows me until we realize that we don't know where we're going. That is until Mantis taps our shoulders and begins to talk.
"Can I... Understand you?" She motions to her head as she asks. I blink a few times before nodding. Slowly, she reaches up and places her hand gently against my forehead. The second her fingers make contact, my body tenses and memories flash through my mind.
---
"Mommy?" I shout through the bustling group of people. "Mommy where are you?"
"Boo!" she yells, stepping into my view. I scream and fall to the ground. "Oh, sweetie... I'm sorry. I love you."
"I love you too."
---
"I'll see you after school, alright?" my dad smiles, fixing the bow in my hair.
"And we'll watch Disney?" I give him baby doll eyes.
"Absolutely," he nods, planting a kiss on my forehead.
---
I watch with tears in my eyes as my parent's coffins are lowered down next to each other. Grandma holds my hand and takes me from my parents for the final time.
---
I squint up at the people. Jami must recognize them earlier because she gasps and punches my arm. My eyes come to focus and I can finally see who's standing in front of us.
The Avengers
"Oh... shit," I whisper.
---
"Peggy, this is my choice," I quote. Steve stops and takes a step back. Everyone is silent. Jami catches on to what I'm trying to do. "Peggy?"
---
"Not the time," I scold, making a weird face that causes her to laugh. "Wait... Slap me. Maybe we can wake up from pain. Like pinching, but harder." Without hesitation, Jami back-hand slaps me across the face. I do the same to her, and it just goes back and forth.
---
"I'm {Y/N} and this is Jami," I say for the billionth time. "We're going into our sophomore year in high school and we're from the real world."
---
I tilt my head back and rest it on the cold metal pole. What have I gotten myself into? And how long have I been here? Wait... Maybe none of that Avengers stuff actually happened, and now this is what actually happened after the cafe blasted us. I look around for any sign of Jami.
---
"You know something {Y/N}?" he whispers, bending a little to have our faces almost on the same level, his a bit higher. "You are an incredibly smart, kind, and funny girl. It's just that..." He takes my chin in his hand, tilting it up toward him, our lips only centimeters apart. "You're pretty bad at flirting." My face heats up, but I keep my cool. Smirking at him, I make eye contact and wrap my arms around his neck, playing with the bit of hair at the nape.
