Stupid
Stupid
Stupid
Why am I so stupid? Trying to take on Quill was a stupid idea. He's half-celestial for fuck's sake! I'm just a kid that's barely dodging his attacks.
Suddenly, I feel something burning in the center of my chest. He finally managed to hit me. I stumble around before falling to my hands and knees. Out of the corner of my eye, I'm able to spot the rest of them fighting Thanos.
I swear to Thor, if they lose, I'll kill them before the grape can even blink.
"Not so tough now, huh?" Quill stands over my body. "I'm not even finished."
"Take-- Take my hand-- P-Peter," I cough, blood trickling out of my mouth.
"What?" he asks, taking a step back. "What did you just say?" I struggle to breathe as I stand and hold my hand out to him.
"Take my-- my hand," I repeat. He doesn't move, just stares at me as I inch closer. I place my hand on his forehead, pictures flashing quickly by.
I no longer feel the pain from blasts but from his emotions. It's almost as if I'm living in his body. I hear his mother's sweet voice as she begs him to take her hand. I watch his only father figure die after saving him. I cry as Gamora is taken away.
We both pull back and I try to focus on remaining angry. I smile at him, holding my side.
"Stay here," I say hoarsely. "Please."
Despite all of the pain, I turn and sprint toward the others, who have the purple titan down and are trying to pull off the gauntlet. I'm almost there... But above me, Quill flies toward them. No... Not again. He blasts Thanos, knocking Mantis off of his shoulders. I keep running, crying as I know that I can't save them.
"Quill!" I scream. I watch helplessly as Thanos gets the Gauntlet back on his stupid big hand. When I finally make it there, Wazze Dude is about to give him the Time Stone for Father's life. I continue running, this time toward the stone, clasping my hand around the small green gem. I scream as my skin begins to crack as Quill's did in the first movie. Green light shines through the little cracks in my arms.
"{Y/N}!" Father shouts, just before he blasts my stomach, which forces me to let go. Through the dust, I see the Time Stone placed in its spot on the gauntlet. But before I stand, the Titan walks over and kneels in front of me. He lifts my chin up and forces me to look at him.
"I'll see you again, little one," he smiles as he bends down and kisses the top of my head. Once again, he disappears into the blue cloud portal. Quill comes flying down, landing in front of us.
"Where is he?" he asks, his mask retreating. "Did we just lose?"
"Why would you do that?" Father asks, looking over to Wizzza.
"We're in the endgame now," he simply replies, ignoring the question.
"You bastard!" I scream, running through the pain toward Quill. "You've killed us all! What is the matter with you?!" Before I make it to him, Father pulls me into him, wrapping his arms around me.
"It's okay," he whispers while running his hand down my hair. The light flashes again, and I nearly fall asleep in his comforting embrace. "We're going to be just fine."
