"What?" Quill asks.
"Remember how I said I came back for someone?" I ask before going on without an answer. "Well, that kid that you were about to blast, that's my boyfriend. And I am not going to let you kill him. Especially since I came to stop that since I already watched happen."
"You watched him die?" Quill looks very concerned.
"Every night," I reply. "And then, he actually died. Here, when Thanos won. And I... God, I nearly killed myself for him."
"I'm so sorry," he whispers. "I didn't realize."
"How could you?" I send him a sad smile. "It's not like I walk around wearing a sign that tells all the shit I've been through."
"Wait... Thanos won?" Quill asks.
"Yeah..." I nod. "And it was kind of completely your fault. I can explain later, but you basically were the cause of half the universe's death."
"Me?"
"It's not as bad as it sounds," I comfort.
"But--"
"Hey, can I talk to the girl?" Father asks, interrupting Quill. I look over to the shadowed area where I can briefly see Jami nod.
"U-Um--" Before I can finish my sentence, my transformation wears off, rendering me almost completely drained of energy. Thankfully, my hood covers my face so he can't see me. I fall on top of Quill, wrapping my arms around his shoulders. "I-I can-can't..."
"She can't do anything now but rest," Quill says, picking me up, surprisingly easily, and carrying me back over to Jami. "{Y/N} needs time to breathe, keep her here."
"Got it, captain," she replies. I lay down on the cold metal of the floor and curl up. Everything is suddenly a lot colder. Before everything goes black, I hear Jami calling my name.
---
I open my eyes to see the roof of my hotel I stayed in before the premiere.
"{Y/N}," I turn to see Stan Lee sipping something from a mug and reading a... comic. "Glad you could make it."
"Wh-Where did they go?" I ask.
"They've been paused," he replies, flipping the page. "You didn't forget, did you?"
"Forget what?"
"You can do anything you put your mind to. And it's okay for Jami to keep her head in the clouds and her feet off the ground."
"What?"
"Telekinesis and Flight, dipshoot. But only when you aren't transformed."
"I have both?"
"No."
"Just the first one."
"Yes."
"Okaaaay, but what--"
"Time to go back."
---
"Hey!" Jami's voice shouts. "Are you there?"
"You..." I try to say. I'm completely winded as I sit up and rub my eyes. "Then... He... Pwsh... and... Fwom."
"English, please," she laughs.
"What happened?" I ask once I finally manage to get one breath.
"Well, you collapsed," she answers. "But then you started shaking violently before not moving at all. It was freaky but in a cool way."
