The mansion was ginormous and way too good to be true. The whole building was made of bricks and there was a big fountain that attracted a lot of people. In the front, there were four garages and a big lawn full of nicely trimmed grass. There was a sign in front of the big gates that read: PRIVET PROPERTY. DO NOT CROSS.

I guess I was really not allowed to be here. If this was privet property, then the people that came in and out daily were on some list. I knew that I wouldn't be on that list and I knew no one who was, but for once, I wanted to know what was in there. I had to find a way to get in there.

I started to see if I could possibly climb over the gates. No one would be able to see me because it was dark and everyone seemed to be inside still enjoying the festivities. The gate seemed to be around nine feet tall, so I could probably climb it. I knew I was able to climb trees that high, so getting over the gates would be a piece of cake. The gates was placed in the middle of this big arch entrance that was made of bricks and I could clearly see that there were some that stuck out more than others.

I made sure to back up some distance before starting  to run toward the gates as fast as I could, jumping off my feet and grabbing on to the bars of the gates. I tried stretching out my leg and luckily my long legs were being put to good use. As soon as I felt like I had a footing I shifted my body so that most of my body could be over the bricks that I was climbing on and my arms were long enough to keep hold of the bars. I slowly made my way up. It seemed like that each second that passed by, the more I could feel my shoulders and arms get sore. I gritted my teeth and breathed slowly. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest and I knew that I was scared of one thing. If I got caught, it would be the end.

I reached the top when I felt my fingers touch something pointy and I took one last step off the bricks. I had shifted my body towards the bars and held my grip on them as tight as I could. I let myself slide down on the other side and land softly on the ground. I had finally made it and it felt so good!

There was a bunch of cheering that rang out as soon as I had dusted myself off. I had dashed off to the place I thought would be the most empty. I ran around to the left side of the building and I looked for any door or entrance that would lead me inside. After five minutes of searching, my eyes came upon a small wooden door that had a ring doorknob. I made my way over there and shut the door behind me extremely fast. There seemed to be a rush of relief that came over me and some laughter had escaped within. I felt it come out uncontrollably and I had soon collapsed on the ground, laughing harder than I had in the last month.

"Do you always laugh like that?" A voice had broken through the darkness and I saw that I wasn't alone behind the wooden door.

The guy in front of me was in a wheelchair beside a bed and looked to be my age. He had blond hair with grey eyes and was very pale and thin. It looked as if he hadn't eaten in days. His cloths were made out of rags and he stunk. He kept staring at me as if I was the first human he had ever seen. "Well, I'm waiting for answer...I haven't got all day." His voice was impatient but quiet.

"No, I haven't laughed like that in a while," I said, taking a step closer.

"What are you?"

"A girl...16 years old."

"Come closer," his voice was cold, but still low.

As I stepped into the light, I saw his grey eyes widen a little.

"You're quite tall for a girl aren't you?" I saw his left eyebrow shoot up in the air.

"I'm 5 feet and 10 inches, so yes, I'm quite tall." I took off my backpack and put it over to the side wall.
