Somehow I got home that night feeling like someone had literally stabbed me in the heart and jerked the knife out of my body. I was bleeding guilt and regret. I knew that Jaylin would ask me how it went tomorrow. I shouldn't lie to him and I didn't think it was even a thing I considered when making the deal with his father. There was nothing else I could do nowhere else I could go. Jaylin would soon be out on his on and my mission was to ensure that he lived his teenage years to the fullest, like every other teen should have gotten a chance to do. I couldn't believe a rich father was actually trusting me, a 16 year-old to educate his own son! I mean sure, I was the one who offer up the suggestion in the first place, I didn't expect to get approval though. Jaylin's first friend would up lying to him in order to let their mother have a job. That friend would be me.

"Silya, guess what?" My mom was sitting at the table, drinking coffee so swiftly and up-beat.
"What? Did you get yourself a boyfriend?" I knew all too well that she was referring to the job. Mr. Hennery must have found a way to meet with my mother about possibly getting employed and yet she wasn't even aware of the fact that I was the person who put her up for it.
"No, I'm getting hired. I went to an interview today and the people who interviewed me said that they would contact me if I got the job in four days! I got a good feeling about this interview, it's in the bag for me!"
I crossed my arms on my chest and leaned against the wall, "That's good to hear. It's going to be a lot better if I can find a job too." I knew that I had brought up this topic before and each time my mom had rejected it because she wanted me to enjoy being a teenager, make new friends and focus on school.
My mom set her cup of coffee down and looked at me, "I supposed you would be able soon. What are you going to do today?"
I uncrossed my arms and stood back up, "I will probably just be hanging outside today. I want to be able to enjoy the nice weather anyway.
She nodded at me and then her eyes lit up for a few seconds. "Oh, the person that interview me told me that you knew his son! I hope that I get to meet him one day. I told you that you would be able to make some friends." My mom put a smile on her face and it was kind of nice to see because it had been a while when she last did.
Jaylin wasn't what I would call a "friend" yet and maybe it was because he was now part of a job that I had made a deal with. I mean he was really nice and he started to become more open with me. All I did was go and show him what certain words meant and let him have experiences that would be necessary for him to have because he was expected to be the next heir to his family. There was nothing in there that we had done so far that I would consider as "friendship".
I made a list of possible things that we could do and now that my mom had known that I had been able to make a "friend" there was no doubt that she wouldn't help me with these things. I needed the Headmaster's permission as well and I don't know how he would react to some of my ideas. I needed to at least try.
THINGS WE COULD DO:
1. Camping trip (3 days)
2. A day at the beach
3. Boat trip for one day
4. Horseback ridding
5. A stroll in a park (time for romantic advice for Jaylin)
6. Fireworks show
7. Amusement Park
8. Day at the zoo
