The Boy Next Door

Chapter 55

   Instead of heading home right away, I decided to surprise Brooke and Faith with some ice cream. I pulled up into the ice cream parlor, and we got out. "Grace what are you doing. We don't need ice cream." "Sure we do. Your baby needs ice cream too. My three babies want ice cream too." I laugh.
   Brooke sighs. We walk into the ice cream parlor, and I made Brooke go first. "I need a double chocolate ice cream cone please." After they get Brooke's ice cream made, it was my turn. "I need a snickers ice cream bowl, and a small vanilla ice cream cone." I pay for all of our ice cream, and we sit down at one of the tables. "I need to call mom, and Mrs. Susan."
   "Hello?" "Hey dear, what did you find out?" "Well mom, I found out that I'm having twins!" Mom gasped. "What do you mean twins?" "Mom I mean that there are two babies inside of me. I promise. Do you want to know their genders?" Mom started crying. "Well of course." "Well mom, I'm having a boy and a girl!" Mom started bawling. "I'm so excited." I chuckle. "Me too mom. Well let me get off of here so I can call Mrs. Susan." "Okay dear."
   I got off the phone with mom, and called Mrs. Susan. "Hey Mrs. Susan." "Hey Grace, how was the appointment?" "It went well, we found out that we are having twins!" Mrs. Susan starts screaming, which cause everyone to start looking at us which makes us laugh. "I not only have three grand babies with me, but I have two more on the way!" "Do you want to know the genders?" "Well of course!" "Don't tell the kids, but we are having a boy and a girl!"
   "We are on our way over there, so I'll let you go. Bye." I hung up, and finished my ice cream. Once Faith and Brooke got done with their ice cream, we threw our trash in the trash can, and got in the car. It didn't take us but a couple of minutes until we got to Mrs. Susan's house.
   Once we pulled up in Mrs. Susan's house, I decided to visit for a little while. Brooke got Faith out of the car, and we walked inside. Brooke put Faith in her play pen, and sat down beside me on the couch. Mrs. Susan sat on the other side of me.
   We called the kids over to us. "Nicole, Silas did y'all know that mommy went to check on peanut today?" They started shaking their heads. "Well guess what." "What mommy what? Tell us." We started laughing. "Well mommy found out today that she isn't having a baby. She is having two babies!" "Two babies!" "Yes mommy is having twins. Do y'all want to know what they are?" They started shaking their heads again. "Mommy is having a little boy and a little girl!"
   They started hollering and screaming. "Are y'all excited?" "Yes Aunt Brooke. We're very excited." "Okay we'll let's go get y'all a bath before we leave okay?" They ran upstairs. Me and Brooke followed them. Mrs. Susan wanted to stay in the living room and play with Faith before we left.
   By the time we made it up the stairs, Nicole was already in the tub. When I walked in, Silas was undressing. "Aunt Brooke don't come in here. I'm naked." I hit him on the head "Boy, Aunt Brooke can come in here. She has changed your diaper before. She has bathed you before. So tell Aunt Brooke your sorry." I looked at Brooke and started laughing. "Sorry Aunt Brooke."
We walk over to the bathtub, and I wash their bodies so we can hurry up. I get them out, and Brooke helps dry them, and helps get them dressed. We walk downstairs, and I get the kids in the car, and start the car. I walk back inside, and grab Faith we give Mrs. Susan hugs, then I grab my bag and leave. I put Faith in her car seat, and put my bag in the trunk and then we head out.
