The Boy Next Door

Chapter 124

   I got Presley in the tub, washed her up, got her dressed and into her bed. Faith, Nicole, and Silas took their own bath. "Mommy. Can I sleep with you and Carson?" Presley asked. "Sure baby." Presley climbed into the bed beside Carson, I got dressed, then climbed into bed. I kissed their heads, then we fell asleep.
   The next morning I woke the kids up, made them all a bowl of cereal, got them dressed and got them on the bus. I walked back inside, walked upstairs, and climbed into bed. I went back to sleep. When I woke up, I had three missed calls from James. "Ugh." I called him back." "Hello?" "Hey you called?" "Yeah. I'm on my way home." "Already?" "Yeah." "Okay babe. Be careful on your way home." "Will do. Love you." "Love you too babe." I hung up the phone, then walked downstairs. "Morning Grace." "Good morning mom." "I thought you had a doctors appointment today?" "I completely forgot." "Call and reschedule." "I can't. I'm finding out the gender today." "Well you better hurry up and leave." "Okay." I run upstairs, get dressed up, then run over to Mrs Susan's house.
   "Hey Grace. What's wrong?" "Do you want to go with me? I have to leave now." "Sure." We ran to the truck, we climbed in and headed to the doctors office. "Where are we going?" "We are going to see what I'm having." "Why isn't your mom here?" "She has to work." "Oh okay."  We get to the doctors office, and walk inside. They call us back, "Okay Grace. Are you ready to find out what your having?" "Yeah." The doctor put the cold gel on my stomach, and used the wand to find the baby.
   "Well Grace, looks like the baby has some meat and potatoes down there." "It's a boy?" "Grace, you've got yourself a baby boy!" "Awe." The doctor walked out, then the nurse walked in. "So what are you having?" "It's a boy!" "Awe. Congratulations!" The nurse wiped the gel off of my stomach with a napkin, then threw the napkin away. "Well, you are good to go." "Thank you!" I say as me and Mrs Susan walk out.
We stopped at the front desk, "What are you having Grace?" "It's a boy!" "Awe. Congratulations. Another sweet baby boy." "Well let us go. I'll come see you one of these days." "Alright Grace. Be careful headed home." "Will do."
Me and Mrs Susan walked to the car, and got in. "I'm so excited." "I can tell." "I wanted a little boy so bad." "What are you going to name him?" "I haven't picked out a name yet." "Okay." I start the car, then we head home. I drop Mrs Susan off, and I walk inside moms house. "Mom?" "Your mom isn't here. She's at the office. Do you need something?" "No. I'm going to go visit her though." "Be careful." "Will do."
   I walk out, get in the car, then head to the super market. I run in, grab some blue cupcakes and a blue onesie with trains on it, then head to moms office. When I arrive, I grab the cupcakes then walk into her office. "Renee, Grace is here." Mom calls me back, I walk into her office and hand her the cupcakes. "Awe thank you Grace." I sat down, Mom began to eat the cupcakes. "Do you not get it?" "Get what?" I grab the onesie out of my purse and hand it to her. "AHHH! Your having a boy!" I nodded my head up and down while laughing. Mom jumped up and gave me a big hug.
   "Oh Grace, that is awesome. Thank you for that." "Your welcome. Well I better get going, James should be home any minute now." "Alright Babe. Well I love you. Thank you, and be careful." "Yes ma'am. Love you too." I get into the car, then head home. When I put the car in park, James pulls in. I get out and walk over to him. "Hey babe." I give him a kiss, "Hey baby." "Come inside. I have some news." "Good or bad?" "Good." "Alright." We walked inside.
   "Are you ready?" "Yeah." "We're having a boy!" James picked me up and spun around. "I'm so excited." "Me too babe." James put me down, and hugged me. Carson and Presley ran and hugged us too. "Daddy, come play outside with us." "Okay baby. Daddy's coming." They ran outside, and James followed.
    I walked upstairs to Nicole's room. When I walked in, she was playing on her laptop. "Hey mom." "Hey baby." "Is Dad home?" "Yeah. So I have some news." "What is it?" "Your getting a baby brother." "Really?!" I nodded my head. "Awe. I can't wait to hold him." "Same here baby." "Hey Mom?" "Yeah?" "So I've been talking to this boy." "Really?" "Yeah. His name is Justin. He's 14, and we like each other." "Okay?" "But I don't want to date him, unless you say it's okay." "Honey, I'm so proud of you for wanting to talk to me first. Yes, you can go out with him." "Thanks mom." "Thank you for coming to talk to me about it first." "Your welcome."
   I walked into Silas's room, "Hey mom. Do you know what your having yet?" "It's a boy." "Awesome." "Dads home by the way." "Okay. Thank you." I walked back downstairs, "Hey Grace, Can you tell your mom that I'm headed for work?" "Sure. When are you coming back?" "In two weeks." "Okay." Jordan walked outside. I looked through the window, and waited until he drove off. I took my shirt off, and threw it on the couch.
