Chapter 128

   The next day, they discharge us, and we go home. I feed Bennett, get the kids off to school, then I lay Bennett down for a nap, and take a nap myself. James takes off of work to stay home with me to help with Bennett. I wake up and go downstairs. Mom walks in the living room, "I'm off to work. Do you need anything before I leave?" "No ma'am. I'm good for now." "Okay baby. If you need anything call me." "Yes ma'am."
Mom left out the front door, Bennett starts crying so I run upstairs to grab him. I picked him up and he stopped crying. I carried him downstairs, and sat in the recliner and began to rock him back to sleep. "Your a mommas boy." James walked downstairs, and poured him a cup of coffee. "Would you like a cup?" "No thank you." "Okay." James grabbed his cup of coffee, then sat on the couch.
"Is Bennett asleep?" "Yeah. He just fell asleep. Why?" "Just wondering if you wanted to go to bed." "You mean take a nap? That would be wonderful." "Thats not what I meant." "Babe. I literally just gave birth yesterday. Let me heal first." "Okay baby. Do you want to go to town?" "For what?" "To get out of the house." "We can." "Let's get dressed."
I carry Bennett upstairs, get myself dressed and Bennett dressed, put Bennett in his car seat and put him in the car. I sit in the back beside Bennett, "What do you want to do?" "It don't matter. It's up to you." "Let's go to the mall." "Okay." James drives us to the mall, we get there and I put Bennett in his stroller. We start walking around, and Brooklyn walks over to us.
"Girl I didn't know you had him! When did you have him?" "Yesterday." "You has him yesterday and you didn't call me?" "Mom was supposed to call you and Chels but I guess she didn't. I'm sorry." "It's okay. I'll be over later today to meet him." "Okay girl." "I'll see you later. Bye." "Bye."
We went to a few stores, ate at the food court, bought some outfits for the kids. Then we headed home. "Thanks babe." "Anytime. You deserve it." "What's today?" "Friday." "Good. The kids can go somewhere this weekend." "Yeah. Just me you and Bennett." "Yeah." I lay Bennett on the couch, and changed his diaper.
   Someone started to knock on the door, "I got it." I say as I pick Bennett up. I open the door, and Brooklyn and Chelsea are outside. "Oh my gosh. Is that Bennett?" I shook my head yeah. "Aweeee. He is so adorable." We walk into the living room, and the kids come downstairs. "Oh hey yall." Nicole and Silas say as they come downstairs.
   "Mom can Justin come over?" "Not tonight baby." "Oh okay." Nicole walked back upstairs, Silas followed. Chelsea and Brooklyn look at me, "Who is Justin?" "Thats her boyfriend." "She's old enough to have a boyfriend? Feels like yesterday we were holding her, and changing her diaper. Now look at her, started her period and dating guys." Chelsea says. "I know. They're all getting so big."
   They hold Bennett, I feed him, we rock him, and he falls asleep. "So how did labor go?" "It was good." "Did you rip or anything?" "No. I walked into the hospital, they took me back. Waited till I was at 10 and then I pushed him out." "So simple." "Yeah."
   "Well let us go. We've got dinner at the house." "Alright y'all. It was good seeing y'all." "Good seeing y'all, and meeting sweet Bennett. Do the kids want to come with us?" "Ask them." "Kids y'all come here please." Brooklyn yells. All the kids come running downstairs, "Who wants to come with us?" All the kids started screaming "Me." "Looks like we are taking all of them! Is that okay with you?" "Thats up to y'all. Your the one taking care of them." "Let's go! I've got clothes for everyone at my house."
   All the kids, Chelsea and Brooklyn left. Mom walked in, "Hey baby. Where are the kids?" "They are with Brooklyn and Chelsea. They are staying the night." "Oh okay. Well I stopped by so I could pick up the last load of boxes, and to check on you and Bennett." "Oh we're good. Do you need any help?" "No. I got it. Thank you though." "Mhmm."
   Mom got her car loaded up, and sat on the couch. "Let me see Bennett before I leave." I walked over to mom and handed her Bennett. "When is James coming home?" "In two weeks." "Your going to stay here by yourself with Bennett?" "That was the plan yeah." "Baby you can come to the house." "No I'm going to stay home with Bennett. Have some alone time with just me and the baby." "Are you sure?" "Positive. If I need anything Mrs Susan is right next door and your just a phone call away."
   "Okay baby. Well I'm gone." "Okay Mom. Love you." "Love you too." Mom handed me Bennett, then left. I sat on the couch and rocked Bennett to sleep. I laid him in his swing, then began to watch tv. My phone started ringing, it was James. "Hey baby. Just wanted to let you know I made it to work." "Alright babe." "How are you and the kids?" "Me and Bennett are fine, the kids went with Chelsea and Brooklyn." "Oh okay baby. Well I have to go. Love you." "Love you too." I hung up the phone then went to sleep.
