Chapter 32

Lauren's POV

(3 MONTHS AFTER MAGCON BROKE UP)

I had just got home from broadway and I was exhausted. We have to learn all the songs first and get them down perfectly before we even start the acting part. I got home and went straight to my room. I just laid down on my bed till I got an incoming FaceTime call from Hayes. I of course answered.

"Hey babe. Did you just get home? Oh my god were you sleeping? Gosh sorr-" he started to say

"Hayes I wasn't sleeping. I was just laying down. And yes I just got home."

"Oh okay, well what's up, how's the broadway life, I feel like I haven't talked to you in forever." he said

"1 broadway life is amazing, I love it as much as I thought I would. And 2 you feel that way because we haven't Facetimed in like 2 weeks." I said

"Oh right well anyway this week-"

"Lauren, hang up I need to talk to you." My mom said totally interrupting Hayes mid sentence.

"Mom he was in the middle of talking, can't it wait?" I asked.

"Lauren, it's important. Hang up, sorry Hayes nice to see you." She said

"Nice to see you too, Mrs. Jonstone." Hayes said through my iPad screen.

"Bye Hayes, I'll call you later okay?"

"Okay, bye." he said and I hung up.

I turned and faced my mom waiting what was so important that she had to interrupt the one time I got to see my boyfriend in 2 weeks.

"I want you to break up with him." she said

"What? Your kidding right?"

"No Lauren, it's not that I don't want you dating, I don't like the idea of long distance relationships. And Hayes doesn't seem like your type of guy. The Shawn one that had a crush on you. He seems like your type of guy." she said

"Shawn and I are just friends mom, plus he's 2 years older. And why is it all of a sudden that you have a problem with me dating him. Where was this comment 5 months ago?" I said

"Lauren please just take my word on this and call him back and break up with him. Not mean or rude, just tell him the truth."

"What that my mother is forcing me into breaking up with you because she thinks that I'm crazy to have a long distance relationship with the boy I love at 16? Is that what I'm supposed to tell him mom?" I told her rudely.

"Lauren, you don't love him. You don't know what love is yet. I'm not talking about this anymore me and your father both agree that its a good idea for you to end it with him. Now I'm not going to have any more discussion now call him back and end it." She said and I had tears in my eyes. I called him back and he immediately answered.

"Hey what did your mom want to talk to- o my god your crying, Lauren what happened?" He questioned

"Hayes we need to break up." I said simply

He stuttered at first. "W-what? Are you serious? Is that what your mom said or did you meet someone better? Was I not good enough for you Lauren, please don't-" I was crying and having trouble getting words out but I managed to say this.

"This is what's the best for me Hayes and if you loved me you wouldn't argue. This is the end of us Hayes, I'm sorry." I said

"No Lauren I know you don't mean tha-" I cut him off by hanging up.

I let out a loud sob that led my mom come rushing into my room.

"It's okay. I know it hurts now but you'll get over it. This is your first real break up Lauren. You had a good run, but this is what was best for your future." she assured me rubbing my back.

Hayes POV

She broke up with me. She just ended it on facetime. I pulled on my hair and screamed into my pillow.

Within acouple more minutes of my screaming Nash came in. "Dude would you shut up. Nothing could be that bad for you to scream about. You know unless Lauren broke up with you." he said laughing sitting down next to me

I looked up at him and started to cry. Just full on ball right into his shoulder. "She did break up with me." was all I managed to get out. He kinda just froze for a minute then asked why.

"She said it's what was best for her and that if I really loved her I would understand. But I don't I don't understand why she's doing this. I don't get why she's putting me through this!" I paused "It hurts so bad." I cried more into his shoulder and he just awkwardly comforted me. It wasn't like when I was having a stress attack and I would just break down and Lauren would hug me and tell me it was going to be okay and she would actually calm me down. Nash doesn't do that. He just let me cry.

"Hey, were going to New York this week, why don't you surprise her. Maybe she'll take you back?" he shrugged and got up.

When he said that, the light bulb went off and I immediately started planning.
