Lauren's POV

I don't know why I just ran off like that. Part of me was telling me to run into his arms and hug him till he pops but the other part was saying 'run, run just get out of there as fast as possible.' I should have hugged him but I ran and right now I just need to clear my head.

I ran back to my studio up the block on 44th street and picked up the acoustic guitar. I started to play the song I had lived since the day it came out on his album. 'Shadow' by Austin Mahone.

I started to sing along with the chorus when I heard the door in the recording room slam shut and the door knob turn. Maybe whoever it was didn't know I was in here.

"Hello?" I screamed through the door banging on it waiting for a response. I tried to push it open as hard as I could but it's like someone was standing on the other side.

"Hello!?!?" I screamed again waiting to hear the familiar creak of the door telling me it was open. But it never came.

I searched my pockets for my phone but it was gone.

"Where is it? Where did it go!" I whisper/yelled to myself not knowing where I could have put it. I got up and starting looking around when I heard the sound of the door opening. I turned around to see a pretty large guy standing there. He looked strangely familiar but I couldn't remember where I had seen him from.

Then it hit me. It's the same guy that shot Taylor at MagCon and tried to rob us.

"What are doing?" I said trying to sound brave but in the end my voice sounding weak and scared.

"What I want it to finish what I started in Orlando before I got arrested." he started, "But I broke out and there still looking for me, so if they find me here I gotta get something done first."

By now I could feel my hands start to sweat, I don't know what he was planning and I didn't want to, I just wanted to get out of that studio.

"Please I'll give you money just please let me go." I said tears threatening to spill out of my eyes.

"This isn't about money!" he yelled making me jump, "This is about revenge, teaching you a lesson. And your gonna get it." He stepped closer to me I couldn't hold it in anymore. Tears rushed down my face and I screamed as loud as I could hoping someone outside would hear me. I screamed until a large hand clasped over my mouth making me cry harder.

"Shut up you little bitch or your gonna get it!" the man yelled pulling out a knife. Not a knife you would use to cook with but it looked like a weapon knife. (obviously)

He was bringing it closer to my neck when I heard the lock jiggle again and a familiar voice appeared.

"Lauren?" I heard and a knocking sound and a voice.

"Lauren I found you phone, I know your avoiding me but please just open the door." Yes! I was right it was Hayes. If I could just find a way to get out of this guys grip and unlock the door I would be fine. The guys hand was still tightly over my mouth so I made a quick decision and went with it. I but down on his hand hard.

"Shit!" He screamed and the weapon went flying from his hand in the other direction away from me. His hand was bleeding from how hard I bit it. I sprinted to the door and opened it revealing a frightened looking Hayes. I grabbed his hand and ran out of the studio. I was immediately bombarded by loud screams of fangirls waiting outside my studio.

"Hayes call 911 quick." I told him waking through the gates that separated the girls from us.

"First you need to tell me who that guy was and why he was going after you and may be coming back."

"He's the guy that shot Taylor in Orlando, he said he had some unfinished business and almost stabbed me now can you just call the fucking police!" I screamed in his face.

He called the police and after about an hour of questioning and getting the guy sent off to jail we were finally free to leave.

Back at Lauren's house

"Lauren can we please talk?" Hayes asked me for the fifth time in the short 10 minutes we were back at my apartment.

"Fine. What do we need to talk about?"

"You. 26MGNT. Your career." he said

"What all about that stuff?" I asked

"Ya know what? Forget all that stuff for now can we please just talk about how we haven't seen each other in 4 years and your mad at me for no reason because how I remember the story is you lied to me about forgetting me so don't be giving me an attitude." He said

"Fine! I'm sorry Hayes. Okay? I'm sorry that I fucked up when we were 16. I'm sorry that I practically ruined your life. I'm glad you got back on track because if you didn't I don't know what I would've done. Okay? Because having to forget you wasn't just hard on you Hayes! You have no idea what it's like watching the person you love be happy with someone else okay? I couldn't deal with it anymore and yea I had a really crappy way of telling you that and I'm sorry! I just could watch it anym-" I was cut off from my rant by the one thing I had been longing for since Hayes and I had broken up.

The way his lips felt on mine.

In that moment, everything felt right again.
