A/N: Hi this is my first time writing down one of my story ideas and putting it out there, so I'm a little nervous to see what people will think.

The story is mostly focused on the cute/ relationship part, with a shy but sassy Marinette and a very charming Adrien.

And I didn't make Gabriel Agreste the bad guy because I needed him to play another role in the story I imagined.

Chapter one might be too long ... idk, feel free to comment because I will most likely read them all. I love to know what people think and it makes me happy to see that you care.

The chapter starts here :

Let me tell you a story about a lovely young lady named Marinette, who is always too kind and brave for her own good, and a young man named Adrien who only dreamed of freedom and of escaping his rich father's golden cage. They both lived in the same village in France in the 18th century.

It was a beautiful day of May and a lot of people were gathered in the center of the city to listen to Alya, a friend's of Marinette, who was criticising the authority of the Baron: the man who collected the taxes and had suddenly increased them again.

Le Baron de Montesquieu (that is his full name) was a cruel man who used the town's people only to increase his personal wealth. On the outside he was your typical average height, stuck-up, wealthy person: fancy clothes, feathery hats, and shiny boots also let's not forget the expensive sword attached to the belt surrounding his beer belly.

Alya, who didn't handle authority very well was often the first one to tell everyone, who would listen, about these types of injustices.

Marinette's p.o.v.:

Marinette was walking through the busy streets and she was thinking of all the things she still had to buy, not paying attention to where she was going. With all the noise around her, she didn't hear the hurried steps coming toward her.

As she was about to turn the corner onto the market street, she suddenly collided with someone. Losing her balance from the shock, she closed her eyes and prepared for the rough contact with the ground. With great surprise, she realized it never came. Instead, she felt a strong arm wrapping around her waist, supporting her back and breaking her fall. She slowly opened her eyes to thank the person who saved her from embarrassment and as if her heart wasn't beating fast enough, she realized that a very handsome young man's face was inches from her own.

He couldn't have been much older than her, 25 years old maybe, but he was mesmerizing. His prominent jawline and chin were fine and perfectly symmetrical. His lips slightly parted revealed flawless white teeth. His high cheekbones and all of his features made her heart skip a beat. He had stunning golden locks falling slightly on his forehead. Standing out in contrast to his lighter eyebrows and long lashes, his eyes were the thing that amazed her the most. They were green and shined as if someone hat put two emeralds in their place. There was curiosity and passion in those eyes, but for what, who knew? Wide open and staring straight into her own in disbelief, they left a mark on her mind.

At that moment Marinette knew that she would remember him forever and was embarrassed to say she wouldn't mind him appearing in her dreams for the next few nights.

Adrien's p.o.v.:

He had finally managed to escape his father's assistant, Nathalie, charged with making sure he doesn't wander off from his work. His father wanted Adrien to tack over part of his clothing line and the financial responsibility that came with it. Today he was supposed to check on the employers that manufactured the clothes and make sure that all the money was in order.

Lately, he had only been outside of his house on business and missed going around town. Most people didn't know him or at least couldn't recognize him because his father had kept him away from the town most of his life. His days were always filled with lessons and business-related events. Appearances were very important to his father, to say the least.

Sometimes he managed to sneak away and today was one of those days. Sadly Nathalie had noticed that he disappeared and sent some men after him to bring him back. As he was turning the corner onto the next street, trying to escape the individuals who were looking for him, BAM he bumped into a girl knocking her backward. Seeing that she had lost her balance and was heading for the ground eyes closed, he swooped his hand around her waist and behind the small of her back to catch her, grabbing her left hand in the process, to stabilize her.

He was about to apologize when, with a small flutter of her lashes, she opened her eyes and his words got stuck in his throat. She had the loveliest eyes he had ever seen. They were a light blue and he could swear they reflected the colours of the sky on a beautiful summer day. They were giving a warm and kind feeling, even in this state of surprise. Her slim face and delicate pink lips only accentuated her beauty.

The slight blush on her cheeks kept getting brighter by the second. He heard a little gasp escape her slightly parted lips. She was so close. Just a few inches and he could taste them; his heart started to beat faster at the thought. He could feel her warmth through her hand, that he was still holding tight and the smell of her skin; she smelled like cookies, he loved cookies. His attention was then drawn to the cute little freckles decorating her nose and part of her rosy cheeks.

...

Neither of them said a word for a long 30 seconds and it felt like an eternity. They just looked at each other, not daring to break the silence. Realizing that people started to stare and how awkward it must look, Marinette started to blush even more and looked away shyly, trying to find the right words to apologize.

- I...I'm so s...sorry! Um... I wasn't looking where I was going.

She said in a hurry, stuttering a little at the beginning and trying to calm her racing heart.

It wasn't what she was going for but it was enough to bring him back to reality. She had never been so close to such a handsome man before.

- No, no it was completely my fault Miss. I was in quite a hurry.

He quickly answered snapping out of... whatever that was.

- T...thank you for catching me... but, Uh... umm... I can stand now... y...you can take back your hand...

She said shyly still looking at the ground

Keep it together Marinette don't make a fool out of yourself she thought to herself.

- Oh yes, sorry!

He straightened back up letting go of her and her hand at the same time. Rubbing the back of his neck he gave her a big nervous smile.

Come on you can do better than that. Ask her name, say something don't just stand there he thought. You finally get the chance to meet a beautiful girl and you can't come up with anything better than "sorry"!?

He was about to try and start a conversation, but before he had the chance to say anything else, they heard screams coming from the city center. They both turned around to see what was going on.

So this was the first chapter, I'll probably add one every week or maybe sooner depending on how many people read it and like it.

Also English is not my first language so if you see any mistakes tell me and I'll fix them.

There is a lot more dialogue in the next chapters, and I am quite proud of how the story turned out.
