The next days were some of the best for Chat Noir. He was faster than ever, no one could stand in his way and he looked simply invincible. Until one night when, while fighting a gang of thieves, one of them came out of a dark corner of the alley and launched himself straight at him with a dagger. Chad had just enough time to turn around and point his sword at him, but the thug went right through it and managed to stab him in the shoulder before dying.

Not able to move his right arm because of the pain, Chat Noir had to get away while he was still able to move. He looked around in pain knowing he won't be able to make it home and ended up on Marinette's balcony still in his disguise. He was bleeding a lot and before fainting from the loss of blood and the pain, he saw Marinette run to him in a hurry. The last thing he heard was her calling him asking him to stay awake.

- Chat! Chat! What's wrong? What happened? Stay with me Kitty, don't fall asleep...

When he came back to his senses he was laying in her bed, his wound stitched and bandaged. The top part of his suit was open and laying under him but he was still wearing his mask. A wave of relief went through him when he felt the mask still strongly attached to his face. He wasn't ready to tell her. How would he even explain why he just left her that night at his house? Would she hate him for lying to her all this time, when he knew she liked Chat and would never give him away? After painfully sitting up, he could see her in the bathroom adjacent to her room, cleaning the blood off her hands and throwing away some sheets to be washed.

- Thank you, Princess, but won't you get in trouble if they find the blood-stained sheets? He asked.

- No, I'll just come up with a good excuse. Plus, I always wash my laundry so I don't think anyone else will see them.

- Alright... What time is it?

- I think it's around two in the morning, so you owe me an explanation.

- It's simple Princess, I took on more than I could handle and it went wrong, I'll be more careful next time.

- You better be. We haven't talked in a long time... But you've been doing very well this week is there any particular reason why? She asked with a curious grin.

- Yes, I met a special girl and it gave me more strength.

- Oh really! She answered surprised. What's her name Chat?

- Can't tell you that. I wouldn't want to make you jealous.

He pretended he didn't know about her and Adrien ...well him.

- Don't worry, you should know by now that I have someone special myself and I wouldn't leave him for anyone else. I think he might have asked me to marry him, but it wasn't very clear.

- Good for you My Lady, he is a lucky guy.

- You still didn't tell me about your girl. What's she like? Does she know you are Chat Noir or does she only know the person under the mask?

- She only knows me without the suit; it would be too dangerous if I told her. She could get in a lot of trouble because of me.

It was partially true since she didn't know his civilian self and Chat Noir were one and the same. And the one she liked was Adrien.

- Oh, I see.

- Anyway, I should get going before someone sees that I've been missing. Au revoir and thank you again Marinette.

- See you around... She whispered.

So he had someone special too. She thought. She was happy for him but it meant her suspicions of Adrien being Chat were wrong.

Her cat, a beautiful ginger feline with scattered black spots, came noseling against her leg for attention.

- Are you trying to make me feel better Tiki? It's ok, I'm not sad. I'm happy for him and besides, I have Adrien. I wasn't lying when I said I wouldn't change him for the world. You know, he has a tomcat. I should introduce you sometime.

Marinette picked up Tiki and went to bed for the few hours she had left to sleep that night.
