  •~•~•~•~

You groaned and cleaned the counter one last time before walking out of the Mystic Grill. You didn't really hate your job but there were days when those moronic people would make an appearance. You would barely hang on and not kill them out of frustration. Like today, a man came and kept asking for your number!

You groaned and cursed the man as you walked through the empty roads towards your house. It wasn't that late, so you couldn't help but wonder why the roads were so empty. Sighing, you stood still for a while, in the middle of the road with your eyes closed and your head tilted towards the sky. You have done it many times before. Since your parents' death, you had noticed how this helped you to calm down, it made you feel like things were in your control and you liked it.

Your parents were murdered by vampires. You knew about them, you knew about it when the town council tried to cover it up by saying animal attack and you knew that if you said it out aloud, they would find ways to shut you up too. So you didn't say anything. But you were sure that you would find a way to find out who murdered your parents and you would kill them.

You shook your head a little to shake off the memories of that monster ripping into your parents' skins and drying them off their blood. You opened your eyes and wiped off the single tear that escaped before continuing walking.

Your thoughts had now shifted onto the vampires. There were times when you couldn't help but think if all vampires are heartless monsters... then again, they do feed on blood.

You stopped dead on your tracks when you heard a rustling sound. Someone was following you. You cursed mentally. Just this one day that you forgot your gun at home, someone follows you. You started walking again, hoping that your self-defence classes would help you even if you don't have a weapon. But you weren't sure... would they help you against a vampire?

You gulped and kept on walking. You steps faltered when you heard constant footsteps, but you didn't stop. Two people, or vampires, you noted mentally.

You had hardly taken one step after then when someone roughly pulled your arm. Maybe, you could have taken him but you were panicking and thrashing around. He shifted around and held your arms behind you, his body pressed against yours as the other one came forward.

"Look what we found, Andrew." You heard the one holding you speak.

"Ah, she smells amazing, Travis." The one in front of you said, the other one just chuckled and sunk his canines on the left side of your neck and Andrew attacked the right side. Before his canines would puncture your veins, Andrew was pulled back and thrown against a tree.

"What the hell?" Travis whispered and let you go and you fell on the streets. Your vision was blurry but you saw a blur run by you and soon enough, Travis was gone too. You heard a thump but you weren't strong enough to get up. Travis had drunk enough of your blood to make you weak enough. You groaned as every part of your body hurt. But before you lost your senses completely, you felt someone picking you up.

~.~.~.~.

When you woke up, you were in your room, you blanket covering you and your neck healed. But the blood on your clothes confirmed that it wasn't a nightmare. You were just attacked by vampires, and from the looks of it, another vampire healed you. But you didn't want to believe it. You didn't want to believe that even a single vampire was good. It was easier for you to blame all of them for your parents' death.
