I was wandering the darkness again. My footsteps touching solid ground but surrounded by dark emptiness. At this point my dream has been so repeated I know what happens next. I look to the right of me and see what I expect, a lion approaching me in a calm manner. I wait for him to approach and he stops in front of me. I look down just in time before blinding light erupts from the lion. When the light dies down I look up to see him. The same man I've been seeing for a few nights now. I ask the same question

"Who are you?"
And he gives the same response

"I am you and you are me."
I'm confused but don't question it his response will satisfy me for now.

"Why do I always dream this scenario?" He stares at me obviously thinking to himself how much to answer me.

"To trust the man named Griffin."
I slightly tilt my head in curiosity.  I don't know anyone by that name. He smiles at me knowingly

"You'll meet soon."
The dream starts to fade and I know I'll wake up soon. I can't help but to ask one last time already knowing we won't meet for some time.

"Who are you?"

"Your maker."

I woke up to my room feeling slightly uncomfortable. Not only did I have that dream again but it's my 17th birthday. A day to dread if you're in the foster care system. Today I was forced out of foster care to live out my life as an adult. After breakfast I met up with Sam in the front garden. She was a blubbering mess and I couldn't help but follow. All I had with me was a trash bag of my clothes and my wallet. As soon as she saw me she leaped into my open arms and held me tight.

"I'll miss you"

"I'll miss you too Sam. I promise we'll see each other again soon."

"When?"

"When you're 17 and can freely leave this place to live with me."

"That's three years from now, can't you take me now?"
I give her a sympathetic look.

"As much as I'd love that I haven't settled down at a place yet. I promise you three years will fly by."

She crashed into my embrace once again and left my side when her foster parents came out. We waved at each other and looked away as I walked down the road to go to work. Fortunately I wasn't completely unprepared. I had a job as a cashier for a year now so that money will hopefully be used to pay for food and rent. I multi-tasked, searching on the newspaper for apartments that were being rented and walking until I bumped into a man.

"I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, I'm sorry."

The man smiled fondly at me and said "Don't worry I should've been paying attention too." He extended his arm to shake my hand "My name's Griffin, you?"

I shook hands with him "Sarai"

"Nice to meet you Sarai"

Hello all! I'm a new writer so please bear with me on my journey to becoming a better one since I know there will be plenty mistakes and such. This story was inspired by one of my favorite book series titled Embrace. I think it might be found online on Amazon or something. Anyways I've had this idea for a while now and I've finally had the guts to upload it. Hope you enjoy!
