Hitori's POV
"Here's the list of school's thats going to compete in the Inter-High." [Y/N] Handed a paper to me. Inter-High is in a week.
I looked at the list and look if theres a troublesome team "Hmm, our first opponents gonna be strong." I whispered, [Y/N] let out a small laugh.
"You can handle it. Afterall, you and Shoyo are an Unstoppable duo." [Y/N] mentioned. She watched our practice matches, she's a hardworking manager, I give her that.
I looked around "Shoyo's not here yet?" I asked.
"Ohh, He's in the Student Counsil Office." She replied.
I looked at her for awhile before giving her a reply. "I see. He's been so busy this past few days."
"Yeah, I hope that he's okay. The doctor said that there's no problem with him. We just can't let him do alot of work." [Y/N] informed.
"[Y/N], I have a favor to ask you." I looked at her with a serious face.
She stared at me, looking at me with weirdness in her eyes. "What? Haha, that's first. Are you okay, Hitori? Do you have a fever?" She joked.
"No, I'm serious." I commented with a visible irritation and seriousness in my tone.
She was caught off guard by this.
Later she replied."O-oh. What is it?" She asked with curiousity and nervousness.
"Don't ever mention or talk about "Kageyama Tobio" in front of Shoyo, Again." I looked at her with a glare.
The surprised look in her face came back. She couldn't utter a single word.
"Not even a single letter in his name." I added. She gave me a cold look. "What's wrong with you Hitori?! Ever since we went home from the trip to the beach, you've been acting strangely. What's gotten into you?!" She shouted.
I gave her a stern look, suddenly a tear form in her eyes as she fell into her knees and started crying. "I want him to remember too...I do... I want him to be happy too.... he's always been a cheerful person.... How can I stay silent when the person who's been too nice to me suffers?!" She shouted with a crack in her tone.
Suddenly, I realized what I've been doing. I kneel down and hugged her weak figure. "I'm sorry [Y/N], It's also frustrating. Just please, I beg you. Don't mention his name. Do you remember what happened in the beach? He overthink himself again. So please, this is the only favor I could ask of you." I whispered. Later, she slowly calmed down.
She agreed to this terms. Later, Shoyo and the others arrived.
"So everyone, We'll be practicing individually, We'll start by warming up. First, I want you to strengthen your arms and legs. Do 5 laps around the gym." Shoyo announced in a loud yet lazy tone.
Shoyo headed towards the bench.
"5 laps?? Is the captain serious or is he still asleep? We'll be dead before practicing." One of the members whispered.
"Shh, The captain's totally serious. Its better if you never doubted his decisions or you'll totally be dead." The other replied.
The members started running arround the gym. The goal of this practice is to increase stamina. We've been practing this alot. However, to looks of it, I think Shoyo has another plans.
I approached him "Shoyo, What' the purpose of this practice anyway?" I asked him out of curiousity.
He turn around and looked at me "Oh, so you haven't figured out? Out of all people, I expect you to come up with an idea about this training, I'm disappointed." He answered.
I was shocked by this "But Shoyooooo, I was busy worrying about you." I wrapped my arm around his neck.
"Shut it." He removed my arm and continue what he's doing.
I look in the other direction "Atleast tell me what your plan is." I pouted.
He looked back at me and let out a sigh. "My real plan is to strengthen every individuals. Combining it together would make a better teamwork." He replied.
"Woow, I didn't know that your into teamworks, Shoooyoo~." I teased. Well, it's kind of surprising but at the same time its a weird thing. It feels like, Shoyo's turning into someone else.. No, it's like he's returning back to his old self.
The practice ended. It was kind of tough but bareable.
"Hitori, Aren't you going home?" Shoyo asked in a lifeless tone.
"It's okay, you guys, go on ahead. I'll go home soon."
As they all left, I fell a sudden anger within me.
FLASHBACK
"Doctor, How is his condition?" [Y/N] asked in a worried tone.
"He'll be fine. It's just a sudden shock. Nothing to worry about." The doctor reassured us.
We went in his ward where he's peacefully sleeping.
"Hitori, I'll go get us some food. Would you mind guarding Hinata-kun while I'm out?" She asked me with a smile in her face. I nodded while returning a smile as well.
[Y/N] left. I looked back at the sleeping Shoyo in front of me. He look so tired. I decided to hold his hands. 'Its cold.' I thought to myself. He's been stressing himself alot. He shouldn't be. If this keeps up, I don't know how long his fragile, little body can handle the stress and pain.
While waiting for [Y/N]. I felt that Shoyo's finger moved and his eyes slowly opened. I looked back in surprise yet relieve to know that he's awake. Just as I opened my mouth. However, before I could say something, he spoke some words that I never thought he would say.
"Kageyama?.." I felt as if someone just stabbed me in the heart. This sharp words that is enough to make my heart blead. Why? Why is he looking for him? I'm here yet..Why is he looking for someone else? Am I not enough... No.. Why now?
'I'm so sorry, Shoyo. But you can't remember him. He's a part of your broken past. You can't remember. No, You won't. I'll make sure of that.'
END OF THE FLASHBACK
I took my bag and headed out. Inter-High is near, It seems that the time has come.
