I woke up feeling extremely exhausted and in pain, but it was nothing to worry about. My daily running and the working-out session will solve the problem before you can blink. I got out of my king-sized bed, a little reluctant to leave my black silky sheets all alone. Rummaging through my wardrobe, I pulled out a sports bra, a pair of leggings, fetched my trainers and exited the room.

In the hallway, I bumped into my father who was carrying my overjoyed mother.

Ah, their love and affection sicken me to no end.

"Darling." Dad spoke before placing mom beside him and kissed me on the forehead. I kept quiet and hugged mom before turning to leave because I felt more pain with every step I took and it was driving me crazy.

"Rose, care to join us for breakfast?" My mother asked, even though she knew I would refuse.

"Thank you, but I have a serious training to deal with. See you later, family." I felt their despair and sadness through our bond but chose to ignore it.

Once I came to the familiar grounds of the forest, I took a deep breath and ran as fast as I could. Even though I was running fast, I saw every curve of the trees surrounding me, every leaf and felt every breath of all the animals that were there with me. There, right at that moment, I felt peaceful. I felt more alive than ever. My heart was with me, it was wildly beating and pushing me further. At one moment I shifted into my grey wolf and jumped in the air to catch the freedom that, for a long time now, always hung above my head, so I caught it and savoured it. I was probably running for hours when I decided to go back and train a little with the pack. After the training, it was already past noon. I went back into my room to take a shower and then jogged downstairs to eat. My parents were already there, feeding each other.

As I said before, their love makes me sick.

And furthermore, I was angry.

Very angry.

"I see you didn't intend on asking me about your little party." I said coldly before sitting opposite them, my glare set on my mother. It was all her doing.

"Honey, I did what's best for you."

"WHAT'S BEST?"

"Rosalina, calm down." My father said in a calm voice but he used his Alpha power on me, so I had to obey him. I closed my eyes and opened them after a few seconds.

"I told you two: I do not want a mate, so cancel this silly ball or I will make everyone go under not very nice conditions."

"You are impossible! What is wrong with you?"

"Mother, I am simply stating that I will banish every single man you bring to me, my mate included."

"Who are you and what have you done to my daughter?" My mother cried out and dad immediately hugged her to bring her the comfort she needed.

"She died. And she is not coming back." Just as those words left my mouth, the pain hit me like a thousand bolts of lightning and I let out a scream. Dad was by my side in a flash and I felt him stiffen once he touched my hand. Through blurry eyes, I saw him look at mom and say something that made her cry again. My body arched up and it felt as is someone was stabbing my chest with a knife over and over. I saw my Head Warrior and best friend, Hector, running into the room with a pained expression. He slid his arms beneath my legs and my back to lift me, but once his hands made contact with my skin, I screamed out in agony.

All this pain I am going through will make perfect sense to my parents.

They will think I am trying to kill myself.

But no.

It actually meant two things only:

my mate is now further than I expected,

and I am slowly dying without him.
