EIGHT.

It was 6 p.m. when we arrived home. Toni was mumbling to himself how the Alpha King was going to kill him for not coming home sooner. Us girls only laughed and told him to calm down. He was an incredible cook, he could make wonders out of thin air. But, since he was so upset, mom let him go to the kitchen and start cooking; he was more than happy to hear that. Mom then took her shopping bags and followed after him; she bought herself a dark red gown so I bought her new beige Louboutin heels to pair with that beautiful dress. I swear on my life, she's obsessed with that brand; she has a closet full of Louboutin clothing. Not that I mind; I stole some of the shoes from her collection. Today, I wanted to be a good daughter and buy her a new pair to replace the one I stole. It was amazing to see her so happy. I now see what have I missed for the past two years; I was so cold to the both of my parents for nothing. I love them and they know it, that's probably why they tolerated me all this time.

"Rosalina? Are you in pain?" Lily edged closer to me and I smiled, shaking my head.

"I am feeling fine. Don't worry, if I sense something is off, I'll tell you."

"Good. But seriously, notify me when you start feeling sick." She placed a hand on my shoulder and I laughed at her serious face. Goddess, she is too worried about my lame ass.

"I will, Lily. Stop worrying so much about me. Let's take our shopping bags to my room and then we'll go have a proper meal with Toni in the kitchen. I can't stand all that testosterone when I'm with the Alphas." She giggled and we pulled the bags out of the trunk. Lily and I spoke about random things on our way to the front door of the castle when something stopped me mid-step.

"Do you feel that?" I looked over to my friend and her eyes showed confusion.

"Feel what?"

"Like a wave of some pow..."

"Girl, your home is packed with power. Alphas and all, you know." She stated and I laughed.

"No, this is totally different. I never felt this way, Lily. I...it's like it's consuming me or something. I'm drawn to it." She shrugged her shoulders and pulled me to her side, forcing my legs to continue our walk. A few moments later, I felt less alert and calmed down. We came to the castle in a matter of minutes and just as we were about to close the door and go upstairs, I felt the same power again; it did not make me feel like I have to submit to it. It was calling my name, like a freaking mermaid.

I turned around and my world stopped.

Piercing blue eyes stared straight at me and I felt my body make a step towards them. Suddenly, someone's hand grabbed mine and that pulled me out of the trance. Lily.

And then it hit me.

It's him.

"Rose, is he...?" Lily spoke very quietly so only I could hear her and I squeezed her hand in confirmation. She took in a sharp breath and I felt my heart stop at the sight in front of me.

Light brown hair, looking so soft that I wanted to stretch out my hand and rake my greedy fingers through it. His face was a perfect match to his Greek origin; every detail was carved to perfection. What made his face absolutely unrealistically beautiful, were those piercing blue eyes which were still looking at me; oh, Goddess. My head was spinning from the intensity of his gaze. My wolf took over my senses and brought me back to reality when my gaze fell on his plump pink lips.

Thank you, Athena, for having a brain when I don't.

The whole exchange probably lasted five seconds, but it felt as if we had been standing there forever. Finally, I adressed my father, Alpha Theseus and his son in my cold, professional voice:
