So guys the creators of Voltron released something recently, and it showed Lance and Shiro together under the LGBT rep sign thing. So Shiro is confirmed gay (which is so awesome!! I hope we meet his boyfriend) and I think it's plausible for Lance to be bisexual, but what if he was trans?
(or trans and bi woo hoo! :D)
This canon is pieced together from almost nothing tbh, but when they evacuated the castle you can see that Lance's room is pretty bare- no personal effects or family photos. What if Lance is a trans boy and was rejected by his family in Cuba, either before or during his time at the academy? If it was before, the other paladins maybe wouldn't know, although I have no doubts that they would be totally cool with it. Also I know it was like maybe 3 minutes at the end but when they decide to go to earth, Lance just... doesn't look all that excited. I just thought that was odd, since Lance is a pretty good emotions guy, and it's even more odd if you think of how Lance never mentions his family at any point in the series as far as I know.
