Sierra’s POV
I turned to see the five all too familiar faces running up to the deck where the equipment was set up.
“Congratulations class of 2012!” Harry called into his microphone and stepped back as the intro to What Makes You Beautiful came on. Liam stepped forward. I felt my heart pounding in my chest. It was Liam!
“This one’s for you Sierra.” He said and winked at me. I felt my cheeks warm up as all the girls turned to me and screamed. I just stood there frozen.
“Oh my God! How did your Mom get One Direction to come here tonight?!” Lacey screamed in my face, ecstatic. I swear I saw tears in her eyes, but I just stood there staring at her. I was lucky I was able to give her a slight shrug.
You’re insecure
Don’t know what for
You’re turning heads when you walk through the door-or-or
The familiar lyrics filled my backyard. I smiled and started to loosen up. The other girls were still screaming and running up to me asking how this was possible. I just shrugged and smiled, not taking my eyes off of Liam. He had come to my graduation. He had come despite being famous. In fact he used his fame as a surprise.
That’s what makes you beautiful! They finished the song and I couldn’t contain it any longer. I saw a huge smile on Liam’s face as I ran up to him and crashed into him, pulling him into the biggest hug of my life. I heard some gasps and whispers from the crowd as they saw our hug. They didn’t know that we were friends. Oh well. It wasn’t any of their business.
“I missed you Sierra.” He whispered into my ear in utter seriousness
“I missed you too.” I replied my voice cracking. He pulled away and looked at me.
“Why are you crying?” he chuckled and wiped the tears from my eyes.
“I’m just happy to see my best friend.” I laughed and smiled at him.
Suddenly the screaming from around us and the party flooded back into my head. I realized we were having our reunion in front of my entire party and his friends. He noticed my look and laughed.
“Come on. Let’s go catch up inside. We’ll sing a bit more later.” His last sentence was directed at everyone. The other boys nodded.
“Take your time mate.” Louis said as he passed us. I’m guessing they all knew about our friendship. Liam grabbed my wrist and pulled me toward the house. Other girls were yelling at him trying to get his attention and some were glaring at me. Really? This is my party and they’re glaring at me?
“Sierra!” I heard a familiar voice. I turned to see Lacey standing there staring at me wide eyed. I sighed and grabbed her wrist, dragging her behind Liam and I. We finally got inside and I locked the glass door behind me, sighing in relief, before spinning around and wrapping him in another hug. He laughed and hugged me back.
