Lacey’s POV
“And today I would like to welcome to the studio the hottest British/Irish boy band of the year, One Direction!” the host, who I didn’t care enough about to get her name, introduce the boys. Niall gave my hand a reassuring squeeze as we stepped out from backstage and in front of the live crowd and cameras. I looked and saw Sierra bite her lip nervously. At least I wasn’t the only nervous one here.
“Thank you for having us here today.” Harry said politely with a smile. The interviewer smiled in return and walked over to each one of us, shaking our hands as we introduced ourselves, before telling us to take a seat on the couch. The couch wasn’t that big, so Zayn sat on one arm of the couch and Sierra sat on Liam’s lap and I on Niall’s. I heard murmurs from the crowd and I knew my old life was officially over.
The secret was out. I was Niall Horan’s girlfriend.
“So let’s get right to it, why don’t we?” the interviewer asked, sitting in a chair across from us. “The five of you went on a holiday to America last month and seemed to disappear off of the radars for a few weeks. Where were all of you, and how did you manage to avoid the public eye?” she asked.
“We spent the five weeks we were there with a family friend of mine.” Liam spoke up and wrapped an arm around Sierra’s waist.
“Oh, and who is that? How do you know them?” she continued.
“That is my friend Sierra right here; we met when we were both on a holiday in Disney World. We became close and our families stayed in touch, going on many more holidays together after that. We hadn’t seen each other in a while and we were and still are very close, so we stopped in for a visit as a surprise present for her graduation.” Liam was completely honest.
“So this is your friend Sierra?” she asked indicating to Sierra. We all nodded and I saw panic flash in Sierra’s eyes as she realized the attention was now turned on her. Liam just pulled her closer to him and I sent her a smile as did a few of the others. The interviewer continued, “So did you enjoy your surprise present? What were your first impressions of the other boys? Did you enjoy your five weeks with them?” she shot all of the questions at Sierra, who took a deep breath before answering.
“The surprise was amazing. It was great to see Liam after such a long time. The other guys were really nice and we all became instant friends. I can honestly say the past five weeks have been the best of my life.” Sierra explained smoothly. We all smiled at her level headed response.
“That’s nice. What about this pretty young lass?” the interviewer suddenly turned her attention to me, making my heart speed up.
“I’m Lacey, I am Sierra’s best friend and because we are so close, I became close to the boys during their time in New York and when they left they invited Sierra and I to go with them because of how close we had all gotten.” I explained, trying to sound calm. It wasn’t that hard, it was just telling a story.
“Okay. Now it’s time for the question we all want an answer to.” She stated giving us a suggestive smile. “Do I see new romances right here?”
We all kind of froze before Niall grabbed my hand and raised it up for the crowd to see.
“Yes, Lacey is my girlfriend.” Niall smiled and winked at me, making me blush.
“And Sierra is mine.” Liam stated and pecked Sierra on the cheek, making her blush furiously.
“Oh so friendships become something more? Nice story.” She smiled at the four of us and we all nodded.
The interview continued, moving onto the boys’ music and future tours and albums. I stopped listening mostly, laughing and smiling and nodding when necessary. Soon enough the show was over and we all headed backstage to meet up with Paul and others.
