Lacey’s POV
“Mum! We’re going out!” Niall called to his mother as I pulled my jacket on and stood waiting for him by the front door.
“Alright, I’ll see you when you get back!” She called back. Niall walked over and smiled at me, grabbing my hand. We had been here for a few hours and his family has been the kindest to me. His mother was a sweet heart and his brother was polite. I hadn’t gotten a chance to meet his dad yet, but I looked forward to it.
“Where to first?” Niall asked as we walked outside. It was around nine o’clock at night and Niall had insisted on taking me out to show me around town. I told him I was tired and that we could go tomorrow, but he had given me that damn puppy dog look and I caved. I’m not strong okay?
“I don’t care. You were the one who insisted on taking me out tonight.” I said and stuck my tongue out at him like a child.
“Well tomorrow is New Year’s Eve and I told Amber we would go and meet up with her before returning to my house and spending the night there.” Niall told me. I cringed slightly and Amber’s name, and I knew Niall could tell my comfort level lowering when she was mentioned. She had been texting Niall non-stop since we left her at the airport. I was one text away from killing a bitch.
As in her.
“Speaking of Amber, why aren’t you texting her? She finally got a life and stopped texting you?” I asked sounding more bitter than I wanted to.
Niall just chuckled. “Now, now.” He said. “I left my phone at home. This is our night love.” He told me and kissed me quickly on the nose. I smiled up at him and leaned my head on his shoulder as we walked down the street.
“So where are we going?” I asked him curiously.
“I think I know a place.” He said and turned a corner, continuing to walk down the street. We walked in a peaceful silence until we reached a little shop. Niall opened the door for me and a little bell went off as he did so. I smiled at this. I loved cute little shops like this.
I looked around and noticed it was an ice cream parlor. I laughed.
“Is everything you do food related?” I asked him. He laughed along with me and nodded.
“I guess so.” He said. We walked over to the counter and the man standing behind it greeted Niall fondly. I took it that they knew each other.
“Nice to see you’re back in town.” The man said as he started to get the ice cream that Niall had asked him to get for me.
“Yep. Brought my girlfriend here to meet my family and friends.” Niall said with a proud smile as he hooked his arm around my waist and pulled me into him. I blushed.
“A beauty you got there lad.” He said with a warm smile at me. I blushed even redder.
